I know I know, I’m assuming almost everyone is having a problem or five with some sort of family member. Mine is somewhat my own fault :S
I’ve sorta always had problems with my younger brother, he’s 5.5 years younger than I am, but means the world to me. I love him, love doing things with him, all that.. it’s just that he can get into snits at times.. that last a very LONG time. He once didn’t speak to me for 3 months, over who could use a bed. Silly.
We’ve asked him to be a groomsmen, he accepted and I was so excited! He lives far away from us, and although I try and keep in touch through email and the phone, it seems sometimes it’s not enough and I’m left feeling guilty.
Anyway, it turns out my bro is mad at me again, he said I wasn’t supportive enough for him on a situation (I totally was, I just didn’t say the words he wanted to hear) He’s at the point where he’s ACTING like he’s not upset, but leaves backhanded comments on my Facebook or just doesn’t reply to my emails (which he is always very good with).
Problem: I’m TERRIFIED that he will end up bailing close to the wedding, in a way, to ‘teach me a lesson’ and we would be lost to fill the spot. While I’m sure I would end up forgiving him at some point (can we say doormat?), my future husband would NOT. He doesn’t stand for gossip-y drama highschool games which in all honesty, is exactly what this is.
What should I do?
