Have any of you ever made an extended family tree or looked through yours? FI's aunt has spent YEARS working on theirs and has filled it in way back to 1659! Crazy! We've gotten so much baby name inspiration from it - We found out that a maiden name on FI's side eventually became his great grandfather's name. We're keeping it in mind if we ever have a girl - McKinley. I love names with history behind them!

My uncle did a wonderful family tree going back generations, it was really amazing to see.  Unfortunately, none of the names of relatives were ones we would consider!

I know my father's side researched their family tree a few years ago but I havent looked at it yet. My mother is adopted and we know nothing about her father but we do know her mother's real name. I'm using it for our daughter along with my grandmother's (father's mother) name. I love names with family ties and meaning.

Yes!!!  DH's grandma has a literal family tree done in ink dating back to the 1700's sometime.  it's beautiful and there's lots of great names.  One we want to possibly use is Garrett.

Yes, my mom and my husband's dad are both into geneaology.  I've had both print off the trees so we can look at first, middle, and last names!  Really fun to compare names.

My hubby is a geneology geek. He spends all his free time on ancestry.com, and he's found all sorts of random relatives from both of our families.

We're Jewish so it's tradition to name our babies after deceased relatives. We wanted to stay with people closer to us though because we want to be able to tell our baby girl all about who she was named after, why we chose that name, all the wonderful things about her, and all the traits that they share. We chose my hubby's great grandma for her first name and my great grandma for her middle name.
