@kimbo89: Someone wore part of a mascot type costume to my mom’s wedding.  Some people just don’t get it!

“You mean Crocs aren’t formal? But they are so comfy” – Aunt

“So why can’t I wear jeans even if they are black?” – Uncle

“Its formal.” “Its from 1984!” “But its formal and nice.” – Mom

I know it isn’t crazy but more so just seriously dumb questions. I’m having a masquerade so I have no idea what people will show up in…

@kimbo89: He’s family, and we love him even though he can be a bit odd.  It was such a strange sight though!

My dad is actually wearinf black jeans to my wedding and I can’t change his mind.

My FI’s two friends are wearing the blue and orange Dumb and Dumber tuxes to our wedding. They have told us since the day we got engaged and we didn’t believe them. Now with 8 days until the wedding we come to find out they really rented them!

@Tswife4ever: Part of me finds that kind of awesome. I mean the other part is the “Oh my god” reaction, but the movie buff in me is screaming “Hell yes!” Its a confusing mix of emotions….

No one has mentioned anything really crazy yet, though like Corilee13, I’m doing a masquerade, so who knows?

I lived in Japan for two years, and the husband of my best friend over there (jokingly, I think) told me he was going to wear a hakama (male equivalent of a formal kimono; it’s still sometimes worn for formal occasions in Japan and not at all out of place at a Japanese wedding).  I think that would be awesome, though, so I told him he should definitely do it.  Who knows if he will.

@kimbo89:  It’s going to be very formal, so (hopefully) he’ll be the only one who isn’t in at LEAST a suit or cocktail dress, but I agree that it could look awesome.  I would love it if he did just because I miss Japan and wouldn’t mind having a few things at the wedding to make me feel like I’m back home over there.
