@ClassicMaree:  You will get more replies on the ring board.  I think a clear center stone says “e-ring” to me, so I’d do color side stones if you definitely want color on it.

Are these (generally) the style you’re describing?

@ClassicMaree:  I have an asscher-cut lab-created blue diamond from D.NEA Diamonds and I LOVE IT. It’s AMAZING. If a lab-created blue diamond is in your budget, I highly recommend it! Lab-created blue diamonds aren’t inexpensive (they’re on par with the cost f mined white diamonds), but they are WAY more affordable than natural blue diamonds (those run over $30k per carat).

HIGHLY recommend D.NEA. They have great customer service and their stones are beautiful. They also do a lifetime buyback–which was cool. If you ever wanted to upgrade, you could trade the stone in for a larger one and they’d credit you the full purchase price.

I still need to set mine, but I’m going to frame it with a white diamond pave halo. I think they will make the blue center stone even more striking.

Here’s what mine looks like in two different lights:

i think either option would be lovely.  here are some examples:

asscher cut blue sapphire with trillion cut diamonds.  it’s reasonably priced.

this is a radiant cut diamond with sapphire trillions.

I think either way will be beautiful.  My preference for an engagement ring would be a clear center stone with colored side stones.  However, a center blue stone would be lovely as well, and it really is your preference that matters.  Good Luck.

I have a morganite 1.4ct center stone. We had my ring custom designed because I couldn’t find anything I remotely liked.

I went with the colored center stone (an emerald, however).  I think both options would be stunning, but in your case, I think the center stone as clear and the blue stones flanking it would be gorgeous.

Oh, this is a difficult one. I like both, but my if push came to shove, a white diamond in the middle and two coloured diamonds on the side. OMG this is heavenly!

…and for the record, I really love all stones, but diamonds are magical…to me.

I tend to prefer a colored center stone with white accents, but it depends on the specific ring too

I think center stone colored is a better theme look. But either ways, as long as you love it. It’s wonderful. Here are mine. Hope you can get some inspirations!
