i'm playing too! I've always been a football fan, but never really got into fantasy. My office has a league and all the guys are so into it & i'm pretty competitive, so i get into it.
My fiance is OBSESSED! He and his dad run a team together for money and he has two other free teams. I always told him I wanted a team with players who had nothing but funny names, and it's working out okay for me so far; I will be 3-3 if LaDanian Tomlinson has a good game. Not too shabby for someone who is clueless about football! :)
Oh God. I'm so nervous right now. If Rivers scores here on Denver, I'm going to lose my game this week!

This is my first year too & I am having so much fun! I'm really getting into it...
My FI asked me to sign up on a free leaugue on nfl.com! He's smart... he's moulding me into his perfect woman lol. I never gave it a thought, but he's so obsessed... he's in 3 other cash leagues!
I am doing okay so far... I won 4, lost 2. I made a bad decision this week... my QB (hasselbeck) is injured & I should have put in Cutler. Cutler scored 23pts & Hasselbeck got me nothing!!
I would have won this week had I just switched out my injured QB for my so-so backup. Blah. :(
I feel ya, Recessionista. I just found out I won this week, but only by 2 points! If I would've played my backup QB (Favre) instead of McNabb (who kicked ass last week), I would've been a lot more comfortable in my win. Oh well, what can you do.
well, i played against Brady this week... so yeah, this week was a write off, even though Randy Moss got me some good points... Giants D killed me!
i'm so confused by it! thank god FI isn't in to it, or i'd never see him :)
@thefuturemrsjewell: The NE game was nuts... I was watching it via satellite on my flight home yesterday & I just wanted to get online and see who was up against Tom Brady! lol I just kept thinking, "I hope I'm not playing against any patriots!"
@mouse: you got favre... ooOOOoo everyone wants him :) lol put him in more!!
@bellini: you don't have to know how the game works-- I'm still kind of confused about that. For FF: You select players from different teams throughout the nfl & this creates YOUR team let's call them Bellinis Babes (? lol). The BB's players would then play my players this week, mouses players next week, futuremrs in week 3, etc. The scores are based on how well your individual players on your team do in their live nfl games.
It's really not that difficult once you get into it.
Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one playing FF! :) I am doing pretty well this season, although I just lost my first week yesterday. I am still leading our league though. My husband and I do a league every year with all our friends and the winner receives a trophy at the end of the season!
