(Closed) Farm Wedding Schedule Timeline Help Needed

I think its great, especially since its on a farm there will be plenty for the guests to see. My wedding will likely be this same timeline, except our venue shuts at 10pm. I was going to have our wedding at 3pm but the photographer says it needs to be at 2pm as its sunset at 5:15pm. But not sure how to keep guests occupied for 3 hours. The venue suggested a short winery tour but I’m not sure.

I think you should move the ceremony back to 3:30 maybe even 4. Only your hard core partiers will stick around that long. In My Humble Opinion I wouldn’t be able to attend an event that long and I am in my 20’s. But you did say you want mostly your friends to stick around so do what you feel works best for you.

@stasiia:  I’m having a similar wedding/ timeline 🙂  Most weddings Ive been to end at 1am when the bar closes…it was only when Ive been on the boards that I learned some weddings end earlier.  I’ve never seen too many people leave early either.   Here’s what we’re doing for a timeline..if it helps

3pm – ceremony

330- 4 ice cream social

4- family pictures start/ farm tour opens for guests who’d like to go (1 hours aprx)

430- wedding party pics start

5- barn opens and cocktail hour starts/ bride and groom pics start

6pm- dinner starts

730/8ish – 1 am – dancing starts

@stasiia:  I might consider going right from supper to the dance just so the evening doesn’t seem too disjointed and everyone will already be in the same place to get the dance and the later part of the evening going.otherwise you may be having to face correlling people to the dance.

Also you may need more time for photographs photos with just you and the groom, plus the bridal party, plus family. You may be cutting it a bit close. We are using 3 hours. FH has a very big family and will allow us for a location change.:-)
