Two come to mind:
Bryon Colby Barn in Grayslake: http://www.prairiecrossing.com
Oak Hill in Galena: http://www.oakhillwedding.com
Bryon Colby was on the link you provided. Pretty location and venue and I know people who have had their receptions here. However, be warned: there is a garbage dump nearby. I've never actually smelled it at the location, but depending on the weather/way the wind blows, you can smell the garbage dump at nearby locations. Again, I don't know if it's an actual problem at the location, but at the train station nearby and the roads behind the property it can be.
Oak Hill is in Galena may be too small, but I came across it when looking for locations for my wedding. Never actually seen it.
Depending on where you live you may want to look into Southeastern Wisconsin. I'm sure you'd find more barns there and it's still nearby.
Good luck!
I'm having my reception at County Line Orchard in a huge red barn. It's in Hobart, IN, about an hour outside of the city. www.countylineorchard.com.
They also do ceremonies, either inside the barn or outside in the orchard. Good luck!

Hi Bees,
I'm looking for a farm that hosts events around the Chicago area. I would definitely want a barn or farmhouse large enough to seat our guests (Between 100-150), as i don't want to depend on Midwest weather. I've already visited this site: http://www.thebarnjournal.org/resource/event_barns.html#IL Any other thoughts?
