I'm all for helping the local small businesses so I say go for it!!! If type isn't a big deal to you and only color and he can promise color then you should be set. I would start talking to him and others and see what they can do for you:)
Edit: And post a pic so we can see what you made!
I friend of mine did this and the flowers turned out lovely! The seller might even be able to help you put together the arrangements.
@Daisylynn: I'll post a picture tomorrow. Right now I am too exhausted and so heading to bed. Stay tuned!
@JoJo Bananas: Ohhh! I should ask the vendor about helping me arrange them! If nothing else, maybe they can loosely arrange them and make my job just a hair easier! Glad to hear someone else went this route too! :D
Well, I promised pictures, and here they are! Unfortunately, I'd already taken the flowers out of their bouquet arrangement and put them into a vase. I bound them with the robbon I plan to use, to give you a general idea. This bouquet has pretty sunflowers, lilys, snapdragons, and a few other flowers I cannot name (I am not much of a flower person!). Please just ignore the mess in the background! :)
Oh yeah, that is going to look great!!!!! I love how bright and happy it looks and I think the contrast with the ribbon is really nice!!!!
@Daisylynn: Thanks! Its hard to believe all those beautiful flowers were only $6!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I finally had a Sunday where I wasn't insanely busy every single second, so i took the time to head to my local farmers' market (YAY fresh, organic, local produce and awesome sellers!).
While at the market, I ran into a flower seller and bought some flowers. Now, for ONLY $6, I got a HUGE bouquet of flowers. In fact, I got enough to make a 12-18" across wedding bouquet. Now, I am wondering if, instead of getting my flowers from the super market (as I previously planned) I ought to see if this seller will sell me enough flowers for 3 bouquets, 6 floral display vases, and bouts. I'd have no control over what flowers I got, but I think I could request certain color families (yellow and white for me!). This has me thinking that I could save a bit of money AND help a local flower farmer. Yay!
So, if you're not picky about specific flowers, maybe you too can find an amazing bargin at your local Farmers' Market!
