We have an e-photo shoot scheduled for this weekend at http://www.sdbgarden.org/index.html. Like our wedding, we’re going for an elegant but laid-back style with lots of nature.
In looking for advice on engagement photos, I’ve seen that you pretty much want to keep with solid colors. However, I literally don’t have anything solid in my wardrobe other than t-shirts. So, off to the store on Sunday where I found this awesome top (on discount):
I LOVE IT! Now I’m stuck on what in the world to wear on the bottom of it. I like the hot pink leggings the model has on, but my legs are massive thunder thighs and very dimply, not to mention knock-knees due to foot problems, so leggings would be a scary look on me (I’m very short-waisted, so the blouse hits just above my mid-thigh). I tried tapered capris in both black and white, but black seems too dark for the location, and white looks pretty good but I’m afraid it will make my legs stand out instead of face, etc, not to mention what they will look like if I sit down on the grass. Or am I worrying needlessly?
Any ideas, fashionista bees?

Maybe some colored jeans with a braided belt around the waist to cinch it in (the top looks kind of baggy)?

Thanks! I didn’t think about skinny jeans and colors. Cool!
I don’t think the belt will work, though. I’m so short-waisted that anything that cuts me in half like that looks very bad (with my long-for-my-height legs, it ends up looking like a round ball perched on top of big thighs and long legs).
Normally I wear tunics that are cut in a bit more in the waist, but I thought this would work since we’ll be doing a lot of shots with his arms around me and things like that that would pull it in a bit.
Maybe I need to find a different top…? I like that one so much, though. I just LOVE the neckline on it.

You could try wearing a belt the same color as the top. That doesn’t cut you in half visually. Do some with, and some without the belt.
A skinny wrap belt like this would work:

do you already have the top? could you post a pic of you in it so we can give better feedback??

Sorry, I forgot about this thread. Fortunately, I found some stretchy capris with cuffs that looked perfect paired with netural platform heels. Our session was awesome and I was amazed at how good we both looked! Thanks for helping me bounce ideas around.
