I chose the song This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) as a song for all of our family to dance to, but at the last minute at the wedding reception, it turned into a true father-daughter dance. My dad didn't expect to be able to dance with me, and it meant a lot to him. It's not slow, it's upbeat, and hopefully won't remind everyone of eHarmony.com.
Isn't She Lovely by stevie wonder is a good one.
my dad and i are starting out with Lullaby by Billy Joel and then going into Crocodile Rock by Elton John.
I totally second glittergrl on "Isn't She Lovely." It's a perfect match to "How Sweet it Is."

Hee hee. I think it's a wonderful father/daughter song. My husband has already said he wants to dance with our daughter to it at her wedding (She's 4!)
My dad and I were stumped as well... I hate mushy and I am sort of dreading this dance. My dad and I are close... but I'm weird about being watched having a moment.
he picked "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones. It's like an 8 minute song but we edited it to make it 3.
How about My Girl by The Temptations? My friend and her father danced to that song. It was upbeat and not too mushy.
Paul Simon - Father and Daughter - check it out! The lyrics are great and it's a little more upbeat of a song for sure.
My FI and I are also dancing to "how sweet it is". I think my Father-Daughter song will be "a wink and a smile" by harry connick jr. Not a typical father-daughter song, but represents the sweet playful relationship we have.
We were also firmly set against mushy songs. We ended up dancing to Into the Great Wide Open by Tom Petty.
"The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra is what we'e doing.

My dad and sister danced to Love & Happiness by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris. I love, love, love it. It's sweet and upbeat.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a father daughter dance song - BUT I dont want anything too mushy where I or others will be shedding tears. My fiance and I are going to dance to How Sweet it is... so somehting similarly upbeat would be great. Thanks in advance for your help!
