This weekend I finally brought up the subject of the father-daughter dance with my dad. Neither of us are openly sentimental, so I knew a traditional father-daughter song wouldn’t be a good fit. Well, my dad must have been thinking about it for a while, because nearly right away he came up with the most AMAZING song for us…
Prima Donna from the Phantom of the Opera! Both my dad and I are big fans; we have seen the musical multiple times and I still remember dancing around the house to Prima Donna with my dad when I was 4 or 5.
I’ve been looking around on iTunes for a good version to use, and there are a few instrumental versions but they kind of lack the essence of the song. I would love to use the version from the actual musical, ideally without Phantom’s threat at the end (hopefully some Phantom fans out there know what I’m talking about here).
My question is, as a guest, would you find it strange if this was the father-daughter dance (particularly if it was a non-instrumental version?)
Here is the version from the 2004 film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0n04m__mJ0
