I wasn’t sure how I felt about Unforgettable, but my dad chose it for our father/daughter dance song.  When the Nat King Cole/Natalie Cole cd came out in the 90s, my parents would listen to it all the time….so I thought that it would be okay.  The lyrics can be read a little strange for a father/daughter moment, but I when I think of the song (even though it was arranged as a duet after Nat died) I think of Natalie singing to Nat, and vice versa.

I think Smile is more of a ‘things are bad now, but they’ll get better’ song, so I wouldn’t choose it for my dance with my dad.  Unforgettable is a much better choice and is not at all creepy!  I agree with grass- I think of Nat singing it to Natalie.  Its a beautiful song, what does your dad think?

I agree, not sure “Smile” is appropriate for a wedding… But “Unforgettable” is totally appropriate.

It’s all in how you want to take it, in my opinion.  It’s hard to find a song that is 100% perfect for everything that you’re looking for, and I, overall, found the song to be appropriate.  You can take the “does things to me” in so many different ways.  It sounds like maybe you’re already leaning away from this song and maybe don’t want to use it?
