my Dad and I are dancing to a version of "Moonshadow" originally sung by Cat Stevens. My dad used to sing me to sleep with it when i was little, so I'm surprising him with it!
I danced with my father and then my stepfather. We danced to I Loved Her First for the father/daughter dance and My Little Girl for my stepfather.
I love My Wish by Rascal Flatts - I might do that song with my dad if I can get him to agree to a country song :)
A song called "Baby Girl" by Will Hoge. AMAZING! I highly recommend it.

My Wish is "our" song so my fiance and I are dancing our first dance to it ... I know it was written from a father to daughter but it's just always been our song since the day the CD came out!! -- My dad is mad because he loves it too!
We recently decided though that my dad and I will dance to Secret o Life by James Taylor ... we are big JT fans and my dad has really brought me up to believe in the words of the song -- check out the lyrics it's awesome.
Our father/daughter song is "My Girl" by the Temptations - he used to sing it to me when I was a little girl all of the time :)

A new country song that I'm doing at my wedding (so you know it isn't overdone yet like the classics Butterfly Kisses) and that's Darius Rucker's newest song, "It Won't Be Like This For Long"

Miss Mint Chocolate Chip! I love Stealing Cinderella! I think it's more a first dance song then a father/daughter song though! I couldn't get my FH to dance to it though, he wanted a classic not new age 
So I played around with the idea of using it for my father/daughter. Either way it will be played out our wedding just may not be a main song
SoonToBeeMrsLewis - My girlfriend and I heard that on the radio the other day for the first time! Its a great song!!! I just bought tickets to see him in concert in August!!

Oh boy! I listened to allllll of these songs on youtube and they all made me cry! I don't know how I'm going to pick my father-daughter song. And nor do I know how I'm going to avoid bawling the whole way through!
BeachBrideT! I hear ya!! I chose a country song because my dad is who got me to love country! Then I listened to all the country songs and picked the one that most reflected me and my dad. It was soo hard but I think I found the perfect song!! (Mark Wills - In Your Arms) Good Luck! You'll have to let us know what you decide!
I suggested "father and daughter" by Paul Simon, because it's cute and my mom LOVES him.
But, my dad seems to remember us dancing and singing to "the lion sleeps tonight" and he really wants to dance to that song. :)

I told my dad he can pick the song. I think he wants to go with the classic Daddy's Little Girl (not sure who sings it). If I was picking though, I would pick either I Loved Her First by Heartland or Darius Ruckers new one, It Won't Be Like This For Long.
My mom really wants us (my father and I) to dance to I Loved Her First by Heartland or the I hope you dance song (I studied dance at university). We'll be dancing to "father and daughter" by Paul Simon though, I love that song so much I could care less how many peple have danced to it.
I think Darius Ruckers new song is going to be a big wedding song this year! And I love! I loved her first by Heartland!!!
There is something to say about a classic song! My FH wants to use a classic instead of a new age for our first dance, but there are soo many good new songs too! So its difficult to choose!

My father just played "How much do you love me" by John Berry for me the other night. It certainly made me tear up.. especially be cause he was looking for a song for us without me ever saying a word. :)
i'm doing 'dancin on daddy's shoes' by leon redbone. it is fun, upbeat, and SHORT! plus my dad loves leon redbone :-)
My dad is a musician and I have asked him to pick the song since I am having a hard time trying to find one since we don't always see eye to eye. I want to feel like since he picked the song whatever it says is how he feels because he has never been good at expressing his feelings/emotions. He will also be singing the song to me as we dance to it on a cordless mic...hope he picks something I like! lol
We are dancing to Michele my belle by the Beatles. He named me after that song, so I am surprising him with that...

I'm having a hard time coming up with a good Father Daughter Dance song! I want something cute and it has to be a Country Song! My father isn't much of a dancer, so we aren't going to be doing anything special, but he was the one who got me to love Country Music so I would really like a Country Song.
