I’m sitting here in my parents’ basement, 2 hours away from home (and centerpieces that I should be working on), and I’m at a loss for ideas for our Father Daughter Song!
I’ve come across a lot of suggetsions on various different websites, but I’m not too sure which to choose … and I want MORE ideas, too. LOL The wedding is exactly three weeks away from today and I probably should have started this sooner. I’m such a procrastinator! 😀
Below are the songs I’m considering to show my Dad as of right now, but I’d like some more ideas from you girls, too.
“Father and Daughter” by Paul Simon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzMh7zHir1I)
“I Loved Her First” by Heartland (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U9CuUDjTzo)
“Daddy’s Little Girl” by Al Martino (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18FClLOmTsY)

If you’re having that much trouble, why not delegate to your dad? You might be pleasantly surprised with what he chooses.

@MissesAwesome: I’ve actually been toying with the idea of using ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell…

@MissesAwesome: if you like country listen to Kevin Fowler Daddies and Daughters. That is the song my dad and I danced to 🙂

My wedding is in 3 weeks as well and my dad and I will be dancing to Always be Your Baby by Natalie Grant.

i’m not very close to my dad, so the sweet, sappy, tear jerky songs were not going to work. we used isn’t she lovely by stevie wonder. it’s fun and upbeat and the lyrics talk about how amazing it is that he and his wife created something so beautiful and since i danced with both my mom and dad, it was a perfect fit 🙂

This song was in my top 3 with “I Love her First” as well. It’s “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Our DJ suggested “Kind and Generous” by Natalie Merchant and the song and lyrics were perfect!
