When we went to reserve our tuxes the salesman said that most father's would either wear a black or gray vest with matching tie. We're going to go with gray in the same pattern as our groomsmen, but I think black would look nice as well.
We originally put my dad in a black vest the same pattern as the GM's navy vests, but elected to change it to navy. I think he will look nice all going together.
I'm putting my daddy in a black tux and a silver vest and bow tie...
My dad is wearing a black vest and neck tie. The groomsmen will have on black ties and vests as well, but different style jackets. FI will wear a white neck tie and white vest.
my bm's are wearing pool (aqua/ tiffanny blue) color dresses and the gm are wearing a black tux with pool colored vests and ties. I'm considerering having my dad wear a black tux with a darker hue of blue/green so that he's different from the wedding party but still perfectly coordinated. My wedding is outdoors on a grassed area in front of the ocean so all black sounds too heavy. But silver sounds nice too!
I am having the same dilemma. Groom is wearing black tux with ivory shirt/tie/vest. Groomsmen wearing same black tux with white shirt & wine tie & vest. What should FOB and FOG wear? Same black tux, white shirt, and what color tie & vest? Right now we have them in the same wine color vest/tie but may switch to black to stand out from groomsmen. What's the Hive's opinion?
both fathers are wearing black tuxes with black vests and ties, they are both wearing bow ties (my dad looks adorable in a bow tie), but I picked out different patterns for both of them.
my mama and my daddy :) excuse my mom's squinty face - no clue what that's about.
Our dads are wearing colours to match the moms :) our wedding colours are teal and brown, so the dads will be in brown tuxes with the guys, and FFIL will be wearing green towatch FMIL and my dad will be wearing Blue to match my mom
our groomsmen will be wearing pool vests aswell with ivory shirt and groom wearing ivory shirt/vest. originally we thought i would have a white dress, so shirts would be white, and we decided for the fathers to wear silver vest and tie. Then when i bought my dress and it ended up ivory, had to change the shirts to ivory and the ivory no longer looked all that good with silver so we change it to a gold vest and tie for fathers. I think gold and silver for fathers are great!

I am wondering what is normal for the Father of the Bride to wear as colours with a black tuxedo. All will be in the same style black tux. The groom is wearing white vest/white tie, the groomsmen are wearing black vests/pool blue ties (to match bm dresses). What colour should the father of the bride wear? (Is black vest black tie appropriate.)
The brides boquet is pink gerber daisies and white callas, and the bm's will have boquets of the daisies and the boutinners will be the callas for all the men.
