We're using "What a Wonderful World" or "Just the Way You Look Tonight"-- both are classics and not as much about the father/daughter relationship as much as love in general.
I'm not sure which song you should use, but I saw this youtube video one time where the father and daughter choreographed a cute dance to a New Kids song. I don't know if either of you are up to that but I thought it was sweet and memorable, and hilarious!
there is a song called "i loved her first". it is a country song. but is really cute. and jsut says that your dad was the one who loved and held you first, so still true!!
I am not extremely close to my father so I think we are going to dance to "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison. My dad is goofy so I figured a more up beat song would help ease the possible akwardness. I thought it would be more fun!
It sounds like my dad and I have a similar relationship. We're close, but not in a "daddy" sort of way. We're dancing to "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. It's sentimental, but not cheesy.. plus he's a huge Dylan fan and I just love the song, so it's perfect for us. You'll know when you find the right song. Ask your dad what he thinks, maybe he has something in mind.
I'm dancing with my dad to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts...its perfect! I just love the words!!
I plan to have the father daughter dance to "Til There Was You" by the Beatles.....my dad used to sing me to sleep with this song
tia...i felt the same way about choosing the song for me and my dad. my sister actually danced with him to my wish which was a BEAUTIFUL song but i needed something different for us to dance to. i think i am going to go with I hope you dance but the version by ronan keating. i found it on youtube and its perfect. i love the song and its much better to hear it from a mans voice for a dad/daughter dance. good luck! hope this helps ;)

My dad and I are close in a quiet way so I can kind of relate. We're dancing to "Stealing Cinderella" (country song) and I cry everytime I hear it. Because of my love of fairy tales, it's the perfect song for us.
@ FutureGulick I love Stealing Cinderella - it's a great song. It makes me teary too and I'm not a crier.

My dad and I are close but def not in a he's my daddy/I'm his little girl way, Im the fifth girl and I just kinda think some of that magic wore off after five of us. Either way it has never been that kind of relationship. But dont get me wrong I love my dad, now I need a song for the father daugther dance that doesnt seem like a total sham any ideas anyone??? TIA
