So my Fiance has the duty I guess you could say of picking the songs for our first dance of course the mother son dance, along with oking the music to be played all night. However I have to pick a song for the father daughter dance, and have no idea where to start. My dad is amazing and has always been there for me and never let me down. We have a great relationship and I want a song that express how much I am thankful to have my dad in my life and how much I love him. Any suggestions on songs????

I like Kenny Chesneys “There goes my Life” but thats only good if your parents were younger when they had you.
My best friend used “The fishing song” by Trace Adkins. It was so cute. because her dad surprised her and the groom with two new really nice long fishing rods. It was such a cute surprise. She loved it!!
Sorry I wasn’t much help lol

Someone on Bee boards suggested “Wonder of You” by Elvis Presley when I was getting married. I took the suggestion. I couldn’t have asked for more of a perfect song, and it makes me tear up just thinking of it.

I came across this song and immediately knew it was the perfect one.
To Sir With Love by Lulu from the movie with the same name.
My father introduced me to Sindey Poiter and the movie and it just seemed perfect. Also, the lyrics are sweet. AND it’s only about 2min 30.
Those schoolgirl days, of telling tales and biting nails are gone,
But in my mind,
I know they will still live on and on,
But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn’t easy, but I’ll try,
If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters,
That would soar a thousand feet high,
To Sir, with Love
The time has come,
For closing books and long last looks must end,
And as I leave,
I know that I am leaving my best friend,
A friend who taught me right from wrong,
And weak from strong,
That’s a lot to learn,
What, what can I give you in return?
If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start,
But I, would rather you let me give my heart,
To Sir, with Love

@thdpr: This is my song too! Same story. Watched the movie with my dad. When I played it for him the other day and said it was my father/daughter dance song, he cried.

We are dancing to Paul Simon- Father and Daughter. I’ve always been a big Paul Simon fan and dad said nothing too slow that would make him cry, so that’s what I came up with!
