Yep. Multiple dads means dilemmas! Backstory: My mom and dad got married because…welll…they had me! They were very young and very scared and didn’t stay married long. They split very amicably and my dad has always been a part of my life. I love my dad dearly and get a lot of my punky/offbeat attitude from him. Mom remarried when I was 8 to my step dad. Step dad has been the one to pretty much raise me. He and I share tons of interests, people often mistake him for my bio dad, and I get a lot of my nerd side from him. All of my parents (dad remarried as well so I have mom, dad, step dad and step mom) are close and get along famously. There is literally NO animosity in that group. Super fantastic, right?
Well, bees, I’m confused on what to do for the traditional father/daughter things! I’ve already decided that both dad and step dad will walk me down, one on each arm, and EVERYONE (parents, close family. It take a village right?) will stand and “give me away”. But when it comes to the dances I get a little stuck. So my queston is this…which option do you think I should go for during the reception: each dad gets a unique dance, we pick a long song and one will “cut in”, or we go for a fun, upbeat song and all three dance together? Oh wise and beautiful bees, help me!
