We are having a 50 person wedding in Maui and have decided that it would be better if we only had 3 bridesmaids and groomsmen. We are also throwing around the idea of having them walk to the processional but then sitting in the front row with our families instead of up front with us. That way it would only be us in the pictures and we wouldn’t have to have them dress alike etc- a flower in the girls hair and maybe a lei for the guys.
Do you think we will be missing out by not having them stand up there with us?

I don’t think it will matter if they are standing. Like, at all. Your plan sounds good, especially since they have to fly. Lettig them wear what they own is nice.

In a lot of catholic weddings only the Bridesmaid or Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor stand or sit up front with the bride and groom and sometimes not even that.

I think its a great idea. I don’t see anything wrong will allowing them to sit thru the ceremony. And who says dresses all have to match to look good!
We have 3 year old niece & nephew that will be “honourary” flower girl & ring bearer. They will get dressed up for the photos, but we’ll spare them the trauma of walking alone thru a church of strangers!
