I think you can get them at Hallmark. They are the ones that you put inside a card.
Before you purchase them, find out from your venue if something like that will be allowed. They might consider it litter.
I think butterflies are a cool idea. Howevs, I had a friend who bought some for his wedding to release after the ceremony... well long story short they didn't hatch. So he had a bunch of cacoons... Just make sure if you truely want it, you're commited to actually raising them (because they come as a bunch of cacoons). =)
All the best,
D
@Daria - That's exactly why I want the faux paper butterflies, not the real live ones.
I had never heard of it so I googled it to see what it would look like... I'd love to see a re-run of the Rich Bride Poor Bride episode!!!
check out these two link...

I was watching an episode of Rich Bride Poor Bride and one bride had a faux butterfly release. They were little paper (?) butterflies that you wound up and placed inside a napkin. When the guest opened her napkin, the butterfly fluttered out. I thought it was so unusual and a nice alternative to the live butterfly release. Does anyone know where to purchase the faux butterflies?
