Anybody know where I can get suitable props etc for our fauxtobooth? I'm thinking specifically of the fake mustaches, the ones on a stick? I know a joke shop is the obvious, but I thought someone might have some idea of somewhere with a good selection of stuff...

i say make some out of felt or craft paper, and dowels from home depot or hobby lobby!  also, the dollar store is a great place to get silly party hats and different sorts of accessories...try thrift stores too, for funny hats, frames, and whatnot!  you shouldn't have to spend more than $30-$50 on the fun accessories, including sourcing out a couple of neat looking frames (i'm sure if you have been looking at the blogs you know what i mean) for people to pose behind.

Thanks Corley, I thought my topic was dead in the water there! Yeah, it's one of the fun shopping tasks for the wedding! And, added bonus, my man actually likes this idea!

I agree check out the craft stores. We are starting to collect props for our booth. We bought some hats from Michaels for $1 each. Most of what we bought were for the kids that will be attending the wedding but we also bought some others. I found a hat similar to charlie chaplin (only it's brown, so we are painting it black) its made out of some type of foam (hope it paints well). Also check stores after halloween I am sure they would have discounted things.

    Good Luck finding props.

I made ours.  Just googled mustache template, printed on cardstock, carefully cut them out, and hot glue gunned them on to dowls.  They came our great!!!

I just ordered some from Whisker Works last week.  They should arrive today!  I purchased mustaches and the pretty red lips...can't wait to see them in person.  They are made from plastic and I can reuse them for future parties/events.  Not sure how often I'd break them out after the wedding, but we'll see...

Cool, thanks ladies! The Etsy ones are gorgeous, so I might just buy one or two of those, then cheapo & DIY the rest! Oooh can't wait!
