I love Zumba! The videos aren't as good as an actual class, but they are so much fun! I hate working out, but I always love the Zumba routines. I bought the box set, which has beginning moves, advanced, and then some floor exercises for toning. It's great. But I got it on Ebay, it's kind of expensive otherwise. Have you checked out local community centers? I know in my area it's only like 10 bucks to join and work out on the equipment for the year, and maybe 10 more for a specific class.
My favorite was The Firm - Total Body Toner, but I've done it so much, I'm a little sick of it now, lol.
My new favorite is Shiva Rea: Creative Core and Upper Body
My favorite so far is p90x. I also like 10 Minute Trainer by Tony Horton (p90x guy). They both work you like crazy but I have noticed how much stronger I am and I have kind of just started.
Kind of = not totally committed yet.
my friends started going Turbo jam and after doing it a couple times I really liked it too so I bought them for myself.
I really enjoy it, Chalene Johnson the girl from the movies is insane, I can't help but laugh at her throughout the workouts.
The music is fun and pumps you up, I like how in the DVD there are all sorts of people - fit, young, old, still have some weight on them; its nice to look at rather than all these buff people in a video trying to tear you a new one I think.
I have heard that the turbo jam videos get repetitive, but I mean what DVD wouldnt when they're all the same workouts
@FlipFlopBride .. I went to a Zumba class for like 10 minutes, but was totally overwhelmed! (It was late in the semester, and I think everyone else there were regulars, so the instructor skipped over basics) I didn't realize there were DVDs, I'll have to check it out!
My plan to get over the repetitve nature is to buy a few totally different workouts, and rotate them around. Thanks everyone! I'll have to read up on the ones you all suggested :)
30 Day Shred. I can't wait for my calf muscle to heal to start it up again.
Ok - what is Zumba?
I did 30DS for a while and thought it was great. Since then I've gotten lazy and now I'm looking for a new DVD. I want the same sort of 20 minute kick your ass video, just need new stuff. Anyone??

Hi hive!
I am going to switch from undergrad to grad student this summer, and because of this no access to the campus gym :( I have been pretty good about going to cardio boxing class, but need some kind of activity to tide me over until the fall when they'll let me back in. I --hate-- running/jogging, but need a consistent (cheap!) cardio workout...
What's your favorite workout DVD? I see a lot on the boards about the 30 day shred, is that the best? Bonus points if its not boring. Thanks in advance :)
