1. Vintage hankies

2. I picked them because I am doing a Second Line for my wedding (Wedding Parade) and everyone needs to hank a hankie to shake.  They match my wedding style because they are vintage and unique instead of the typical white ones that I have always got at weddings.

3.  I do believe people will use them at the wedding for the second line.  I hope they also take them home after the wedding.

Our favors are serving a dual purpose… we’re doing little bags of Godiva Gems with tags attached thanking everyone for coming and asking them to please upload their photos to a website for us.  Hopefuly at least a few people out of the 250 do it. =)

1. Sorry about the blurry picture… I took it with my phone… but you can get the idea.  There will probably be 3 Gems in each bag (only 2 in the picture).

2.  First, we wanted something edible because in our experience, people typically eat the edible favors while a lot of non-edible ones are left behind.  We chose to use Godiva Gems because FI absolutely LOVES Godiva… we go almost every time we’re in the mall and he always buys it for people for Christmas.  His sister once told him he probably poops Godiva! lol.  We’re using the milk chocolate truffle Gems because they’re in pink wrappers, and our colors are fuchsia, orange, & silver (hence the silver bags).  We might also put in one carmel gem, since they’re a goldish orangish color.  The tags attached to the bags will be either fuchsia or orange, depending on what we finally decide on for table linens.

 3.  I hope people actually eat them, or at least pass them on to someone who will enjoy them!  And I hope at least a couple of people upload pictures. I know of at least two who will, so the tags won’t be a total waste. =P

@greenebanana! I am so glad i’m not the only one that thought it said that at first glance!!! You’re not the only one with your mind in the gutter I guess!

But since this said FAVOR porn, I guess I’m obligated to play along… I had miniature tins of candy shaped like the mushrooms from Super Mario Brothers because we love Nintendo, and played a lot of it when we first met… we had a Nintendo/Mario themed reception:

@MissHobbit :  Most people outside of New Orleans have no idea what one is.  A second line is a jazz parade that is done to celebrate life.  They do them at weddings and funerals.  It is hard to find a good youtube video but this will give you the idea of what it is.  The first video is just a normal second line (not for a wedding) but I love this song.    The second is one at a wedding.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXMI9Dj8sXc

2.   We are doing spice jars filled with FI’s chile powder with a cute little tag.  FI is a chef, and his chile powder is kind of famous in these parts so it’s a nice way to incorporate something personal.  The favors aren’t cheap by any means, but we only have to do about 30 of them (families will only take one).  We don’t have a theme, but again, it totally says FI.

2.  Most of our friends and family cook, and who doesn’t use chile powder? (it also makes a great steak rub).  We are toning the spiciness down to make it more palatable for the the non-New Mexicans.

Edited because happy crickets is very smart!
