I desperately need some ideas! We bought little wooden hearts, stained them the color of our wood chips that are in a our mason jars, its a rustic country, fall theme, and I hot glued two hearts together, over lapping, and after glueing about 300 hearts together, I went to put on initial on one and one on the other, but to my surprise, the hearts came unglued!! They wont stay glued!!!! So, we thought about just using the hearts seperately, but what are we supposed to do with them??? We are out of ideas!

What about looping a peice of twine or some other rustic looking string and making an ornament type thing?

You need to use wood glue and then let them sit for 48 hours before you do anything else with them and then your idea will work

Sorry this happened to you. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be.

What type of glue did you use? For some of my painted wood projects, I have used Sobo Premium Craft & Fabric Glue, and for others, I have used BEACON 527 MULTI-USE GLUE. Both of them have worked wonderfully. I have also heard of another glue, I think it is called E600, that is supposed to work really well too.

If you want to use the hearts separately, you could go to a craft store and get some little wooden boxes to use for bathroom baskets, paint them, and then arrange the single hearts around the boxes/baskets.

Other than that, I am sorry, I am out of ideas today :-/

EDIT: I also agree with mwitter80, you definately need to let them cure at the very least overnight, and then do a test with them. You want to make sure the glue is stable before you try to do anything else with them.

Go to you local woodworking supply store and take in what you want to glue together. There are many different types of wood glue that are all for different things. They will be able to tell you which type is best for the paint and wood you are using. Like the PP said, you do have to let it set up for usually 24 hours.
