eek! I have to pick just one???!!! LOL...I would pick sushi but I know my man would pick the Kobe burger sliders.
hee hee...I realized that as I was typing...I'm a dork. I chose what I mentioned above, everything though sounds great to me, but my man is allergic to seafood :P so while I would love the shrimp I know for some folks it wouldn't be an option.
I would definitley go with the spinach/artichoke dip (is there anyone that doesn't like that) and the mozz sticks too. :)
Oh LAWD! I just saw the Oreo mention....my man's favorite thing in the whole world! Seriously, we (he) go through at least 2 large packs of Oreos a week!
I know it's way overdone, but I love mini-quiches. It's the only app. that I care about having...I let my Mom pick the rest. I also think little bruschetta type things go over pretty well...though I guess the spinach/artichoke dip is similar.
Are these passed apps or in a buffet? I might worry about the shrimp cocktail sauce spilling if they were passed.
BTW, I picked crab cakes and coconut shrimp (who doesn't like those?). In retrospect, I would have added sushi (also keep in mind I don't eat red meat so I might be biased to the aquatic items).
I picked crab cakes, mozzarella sticks (only bc i love them sooooooo much) and kobe sliders because they sound more wedding appropriate. Mmmmm.

I love apps. I also love stuffed mushrooms, spanikopita, bacon wrapped shrimp, and anything that involves the words fried and cream cheese (both together = double points).
Coconut shrimp, Kobe Sliders, shrimp cocktail, sushi & Spinach artichoke dip.
Even though I love the "idea" of a crab cake I didn't pick it because most places use fake crab and it just tastes like crap. To me, I'm kinda stuck up about seafood. hahha.
I also love bacon wrapped scallops! A must during our cocktail hour! Oooh and yeah stuffed mushrooms is a good one.
anybody see that episode of FRIENDS where Joey suggested Peanut Butter Fingers for Monica & Chandler's wedding???

Those all sound yummy, but my all-time favorites are crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. If you're looking for "timeless", I think shrimp cocktail definitely fits that description.
You can never go wrong with fried cheese. I also love crab cakes. :)

Those are all yummy...and universally well-liked (though some people are anti-seafood). Have you taste-tested any from the caterer or wherever you are getting food from/made? I had the worst tasteless spinach artichoke dip last night, and if the crab cakes are imitation crab meat, then your choice is made much easier!
Sushi in a non-sushi restaurant weirds me out though. The grocery store sushi is ok...but I'd be a little nervous about eating like sushi just sort of sitting out. My friend eats the sushi at the Chinese buffet! <BARF>

I am trying to decide which appetizers to have. We want some classic favorites. Thats kinda our wedding theme Classic timeless love lol kinda corny i know but it goes with alot of other stuff with the theme. We plan on also have rice crispy treats and oreos as part of our dessert bar too since they go with the wedding colors (black white damask) and theme. So looking for some good apps that are always a winner. Let me know . anything not on the poll add remarks plz thanks.
