For those of you who HAVE kids... what's your childs/childrens names?

For those who are want kids or are already pregnant... what's your favorite baby names?

I'm still a couple years away from having a baby but it's constantly in my mind. If I hear a name, I think "hmm I really like that".

The one I thought about yesterday was Noah. I really like it!

I also like Ella, and Ava.

Is it sad that FH and I have already pretty much picked out the name of our son if we have one? Charles John or John Charles (after FH and my grandfather). For a girl I really like Marie or Elizabeth. Something that's a bit less current but is easy for people to spell.

My girl names will be a surprise :)

The boy names I really liked were Matteo, Luca, and Kenzo... but we did search hard for a useable nature name that didn't sound too granola-y.  Boy names were really hard.  Girl names were incredibly easy!

I soo almost posted this earlier this morning!

My favorite boy name is Asher because it means "happy" but my FI doesn't like it so perhaps it can be a middle name. I like Henry, Oliver, Nicholas, James, and Benjamin.

For girls, I love Sophia, Felicity, Margot, Jocelyn, Josephine, Madeline, and Caroline.

And a lot of others haha. I may or may not have name lists saved in a document for future reference. Innocent

@littlemissmoo - I LOVE Charles John. You could call him Charlie for short :-)

@Mrs. DG - I find girls names SO easy to find and like. But it's boys names that I have a hard time with. I have a list at home going and the girls list is WAY longer than the boys.

I think I need to update my list at home tonight!!!

Middle names will be easy for us (hopefully we have a boy and a girl). Girls middle name is my middle name. Which is also my moms and my grandma's middle name. AND my great grandmas First name.

Boys is my FI's name and his Dad's name. FI's middle name is HIS dad's name and his grandpas name.

For girls, I love Adelaide, Arabella, Audrey, Autumn, Charlotte, Emmeline, Felicity, Lucy, and Stella.

For boys, I like Max, Sebastien, Ethan, Lucas, Rory and Dorian.

I also like the name Brenna, but it would sound ridiculous with FI's last name.

For boys names, both FH really like the name Coleman. I liked the name Aiden, but 4 girls I graduated high school with who have had boys in the past 3 years have named their sons Aiden, so that one is out. I also like Max and Samuel for boys.

For girls, I like Ava, Ruby, Grace, Olivia, Charlotte. I like old fashioned sounding names.

I've never thought I would have kids, but if I ever do (and that's a big IF) I would name my girl Juliet. I have always loved Sam for a boy.

There are SO many names that don't go with FI's last name. His last name ends with an N so any names ending with N just sound weird!

@Amaryllis- Yep My FI's name starts with a B and ends with an A, just like Brenna. It's SUPER Italian. My super Irish first name is going to sound funny with it, too. *sigh*

My daughters names are Violet (8) and Lulu (5). My sons name is Rex. My husband and I are planning on a baby this year. We will using family names, very Finnish names, for future children. My husbands fathers name was Aarne, so that will be for a boy, and his grandmothers name was Laila (pronounced Lila) for a girl. They both passed away in the last few months, so I love that we'll be honoring them.

I really want Arman for a boy but Mr. Tacos said it's too pretentious... he wants Dev, which oddly I'm fine with.  For a girl we're divided.  I love Maya, Samara, or Nadia.

So for some reason I really like names that start with the letter E.  No idea why as none of my names do.

Girls: Erma (grandmother's name), Germaine (other grandmother's name), Emma, Elanor, Elizabeth, Estelle

Boys: Ezekiel (so you can call him Zeke!  The hubs hates it though), Ethan, Evan, Edwin, Roman (Romie for short, grandpa's name).

For middle names we will use family names, our grandparents names, our parents names etc.

When my brother was born almost 21 years ago and my parents named him Max everyone thought they were so cutting edge, (and sort of crazy).  He was always the only Max.  Now everyone is naming their kids Max.  It's become so common that he started using his full name, Maxime.

Although we won't be thinking about kids for a few years, we have thought about names.  For a girl we like: Minka, Isla, Eliza, (pronounced E-lee-za not E-lie-za), Natasha, Corinne.  For boys we like: Leiden, Dutch, Enzo, Hudson, Edison, Harrison.

Although I really want a girl, I find it way easier to find boy names I like than girl names I like.

I think if I have a girl I want to name her Mae after my grandmother. I also like the name Anna (not sure if it would just be anna, or maybe annabelle or something). I haven't thought as much about boy names. I'd like to pick something that would go with the middle name Thomas because that is a tradition in FI's family... grandpa, dad, and FI all have middle name Thomas. Maybe James after my mom's dad.

@egb, I'm glad I'm not the only one! We're waiting a couple years too but FH doesn't want to be an old dad so it won't be much longer than 2 years. :)

I love how everyone has such different and unique names lined up!

My favorite boy name is Henry, but not sure yet what I'd pick for a girl.

Have you all discovered the popular baby name lists on the US govt's Social Security Administration website? Warning - it can cause MAJOR time suckage! You can look up the most popular names from the past 100+ years, or track the popularity of a single name over the years to see how it's risen and fallen. Very fun!
