Janna19- My fiance really wants Ryann for a girl, I think he's hoping for a tomboy as well! I like the boy names for a girl idea. I know it's VERY trendy right now, along with the old-fashioned names like Emma, Claire etc.... it's SO hard to not like the trendy ones! They're trendy for a reason!

My cousin is naming her little boy (due in April) Noah and I love it! I just met a man named Noble, I thought that was really neat, it's hard to find an original boy's name that isn't too feminine. I like Meadow for a girl also!

Even though I'm not sure if I want kids or not, I've been thinking of names since I was about 12, haha.
For girls I like: Georgiana, Cecilia, Fern, Harriet, Charlotte and Clara.
For boys I like: Stanley, Edmund, Henry, Jack and Everett. FI thinks most of the names I like are weird, but there is plenty of time to make him change his mind. Tongue out

We have literally talked about kids names since before getting engaged. I find it much easier to find boys names that I like. He is convinced that a boy will be named "Maximus Aurelius". He loves Gladiator, and thinks that if a kid has a strong name, they'll have to be tough and live up to it.

    Um...I vetoed that immediately!

Other than that, we like Sebastian, Valentino, Nicholai and Gabriel for boys

For girls, I like the names Kimrey (my BFF's mom's maiden name....such a great name!), Gabrielle, and Ainslee.

I don't particularly like nicknames, though. So I won't be calling my kids Val, Nick, Gabe, or anything. I know it will probably happen later with friends, but I've really pressed my FI to agree with me on that. lol. I'm strange, I know.

I really think boys names for girls is super cute.  Reggie (short for Regina), or Sam (for Samantha), or Alex (for Alexis or Alexandra), or Chuck (for Charlotte).  Problem is, I'm not really crazy about the long versions of the names!

Personally, I like old fashion names...you don't hear them much anymore.

Boys: Edward, Jasper, Eli, Ethan, Collin, Oliver, I really like Caden...but I have seen like 10 of them come through the NICU over the past few months. (It would have been Caden Michael) :(

Girls: Charlotte, Sophia, Olivia, Isabelle (but that's MIL's puppy's name :() Josephine, Elouise/Eloise (LULU for short)

Hubby likes Bryar for a boy and Louissa for a girl...I'm sorry I had to veto them. Our close friends have a Bryar, and Louissa? ACK!

Just a few. My SIL is naming her daughter Presley...cute, but...

My children's names are Anna Kathleen, Sean Malcolm and Andrew Clemens. Anna, Kathleen, Malcolm & Clemens are all family names - Sean & Drew have been my favorite boy's names since I was a girl (Drew is Andrew on paper because my mother has a thing about giving "nicknames" as proper names).

Should FI and I decide to adopt another child we would use Mary Abigail for a girl or Nathaniel Thomas for a boy (again, Nate would be Nathaniel because of my mother).

I have a thing about four letter names :D

FH and I have been talking about baby names a lot. For a boy:

Koston Chace, Koston Sage, or Koston Maddox *so far*... I HATED the name Koston at first cuz I was like who the hell names their kid that? but its grown on me. I like the uniqueness of it. And my FH got it from that skateboarder guys last name, and i was like NO we arent naming him after that guy. but he was like nooo i just love the name. whatevs, it grew on me.

pregnancy is a while away so it could change.

    and for a girl:

    Averi Leigh

thats been pretty constant for a few years now, so if we change it, ill be surprised.

I have no idea when we are gonna try to have a baby, but I've already decided that if we have a boy we will name it Henry.  My grandfather desperately wanted a grandson, so when I was born (the sixth granddaughter in a row) he decided I'd be his substitute grandson and he called me Henry til the day he passed away.  I think it would be a great tribute.

For girls names I really like Hazel (how adorable would a Henry and Hazel be together...makes me want to have twins!), but I also like Cecilia and Eleanor.

If we have a boy his name will be Maxime Jean Paul

If we have a girl her name will be Elodie.  We have not yet chose her next 2 names but I have some ideas.  The other name I love for a girl is Capucine.

I'm pregnant right now! :) Due in September. We want to be surprised as to the sex of the baby.

If it's a girl: Agnes Maria Henrika Maja

If it's a boy: Axel Jens Fabian Johan

Our choice of names comes from my family's Swedish background. Agnes is number 1 popular name in Sweden for Girls and Johan is at the top for boys, although that had nothing to do with our decision.

I really like Leilah, and Lola. Joe has a very french La last name so I think both of those would sound so great with his name.

He wants to name a son Gavin. Undying devotion to Gavin Rossdale, I presume.

    @Rosie. I love Agnes!

I love how Old fashioned names are coming back in style.

I have a great aunt Milly, and I would love to name a baby after her, since she is by far the coolest lady I have ever met. 94 and still works in her garden every day in summer!

For girls names, we're pretty much set: Camille Rose, Isabelle Marie, Lea <no_middle_yet>

Boys is trickier. My favorite boy name for my whole life has been Anthony Scott, but my FIs last name starts with an S, so that's pretty much out of the picture. We can't switch it around either, because SAS is the company we both work at...and that'd be weird. This thread has given me some good ideas. I like Nathan and Noah.

I want to use family names. I'm no where near ready for kids, but I know if I have a daughter I will name her Olive after my amazing great-grandmother.

My FI likes Bjorn for a boy, very Scandanavian. I only wonder if he'll be teased or no one could pronounce it. I love the idea of Anders. My FI's last name is Anderson. Lol so Anders Anderson. It's a Norwegian, Swedish naming pattern. E.G. Knut Knutson. I think it's awesome.

I like Penelope, Ingrid, Ilsa, Lorraine (after my fi's grandmother)

My Fi's Dad is awesome and does genealogy. He traced his family back to Bible days and asked to do mine. We definitely want to use family names as inspiration.

I have lots of time to decide. I don't know if I have the balls to give anything too hard to pronounce or spell. As a teacher, I see some crazy ahem creative name spellings. All this does is make the child constantly tell people how to spell their name (a reason I may not use the name Bjorn.)

Oh how fun, we just finalized our december baby/babies names yesterday! We're finding out Tues if it's twins so we have 2 boys 2girls and one of each! And Jack so classic it's my hubby's name, who is more traditional with his names and I am way out there so it hasn't been easy to agree!

JonPierre is hubby's boy name he's had forever, his uncle and dad's put together and he wouldn't budge and it doesn't bug me.

But I loved for a boy: Draigan, Rhone, Geffen, Nixon and Beauregard (everyone hated the last one...lol)

for a girl: Daija, Dahlia, Ashta, Rio and Isadora.

Yep I know kinda out there but I love exotic names.

My little girl's name is Reagan Olivia.  LOVE it! The only name we could agree on.  I loved Rowan, Harper, and Noa as well.

If we ever have a boy I love the name Oliver and Finn. If it's Oliver he could be Oli for short. :)
