Looking for some advice here. What was your favorite baby shower gift that you received? I have four baby showers coming up (side note I have never been to a baby shower before) and I have no idea what to get my friends! Only one of them has registered for shower gifts. I am pretty close with all of them so I would like to get something that they will actually appreciate and use. Thanks for your advice!

@MrsDeLovely: when I buy gifts for a baby shower I try to buy stuff people don’t think of.. Normally everyone buys cute little outfits, shoes, blankets etc.. when I had my first shower for my first baby, I got a lot of stuff and a lot if clothes.. One of my friends got me a bottle warmer, bottle holder rack, formula dispencer( holds measured formula for bottle when you are out and about) cleaner scrub to clean bottles and dish rack holder to put bottle nipples etc.. Pampers, wipes, creams, lotions, shampoo, wash clothes, baby towels.. That stuff goes a long way and I’m glad I got a lot of that’s stuff too because you don’t think of that stuff when shopping for a baby.. Just clothes and the big stuff.. Stroller, swing, high chair, bouncers etc.

I get a new mummy bath set and baby lotion, wipes, vouchers to get nappies or whatever the baby actually needs and I usually put it all in a baby bath.

Since they didn’t register, I would consider gifting them something they didn’t think of either. Most often, I find that’s the childproof stuff. It’s not the most exciting, but they will need it. I’ve done a dishwash tub or a nice small storage bin with outlet covers, toilet locks, etc. I would include a gift receipt in case there’s something in it they don’t need. You can also include baby medication in there as many new parents neglect to put that on registries. This looks really cute if you wrap it up as a gift basket with cello wrap and a big bow.
Another option is to gift food or like a gift card for a place that delivers. As a currently PG mom, I’ve been told by a ton of people that you need food more than anything else (except maybe sleep) when the baby first comes home. I have a friend that always does a food delivery service.
