What are your favorite Christmas songs (modern or traditional) that get you in the holiday mood? I'm working on a mix of awesome Christmas music to post on my blog tomorrow.. A few of my favorites, I especially love modern artists covering traditional songs:

The Waitresses - "Christmas Wrapping"

Jimmy Eat World - "Last Christmas"

Sense Field (or John Lennon) - "Happy Christmas (War is Over)"

Dan Wilson - "What a Year for a New Year"

Vince Guaraldi Trio - "Christmas Time is Here" (from Charlie Brown)

Any Christmas songs you hate?? I can't stand "Santa Baby," "I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Claus," or "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas."

@solaneoh: I'll have to check that out - I'm a former theater nerd but I'm not very familiar with Mame. Did you know that "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" was written for the musical "Meet Me in St. Louis" with Judy Garland? I watched a documentary on it for some reason, when the song was first drafted, the lyrics were terribly depressing, something like "Have yourself a merry little Christmas, it may be our last." They got the composer to change them for the movie, lol.
