fruit torte- I made one with a white chocolate & chesecake filling once and it was gone so quick!
What about a tort? Pretty easy, pretty, and always super yummy. My fav is layers of brownie, chopped up snickers, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream. Healthy version I made for memorial day had torn up angel food cake, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries layered with cool whip.
I made a blueberry sour cream pie the other day for the D&D group. That things was DEVOURED in 5 minutes and my new favorite recipe.
I'm with babyboo, CHEESECAKE!!!!!!!!! Love me some cheesecake! :)
that pan is jadorable...if you already have it, I feel like you have to use it! So perfect for a wedding-related party... depending on how creative you feel, you could pipe some icing on the different tiers or even put some sugar flowers on there
Oh man, I could make BAKLAVA, too!
Too many choices, everything sounds so good =]
This thread makes me want the HUGE piece of cake waiting for me when i get hom even more then i wanted it before!
Banoffi pie... or, for a really simple option, a mountain of meringues, an equal mountain of strawberries, and a huge container of whipped cream? Easy, fresh, tasty...
It's not baking, but mousse pipped into little chocolate cups is tasty, easy (to make and to eat) and quite fancy looking! You could do a couple of flavors too - white chocolate + grand marnier, dark chocolate + amaretto, milk chocolate + creme de menthe...
I love love love banana pudding. That is mine and FI's favorite dessert. Second would be brownies for him and vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup for me, lol.
Chocolate bread pudding made w/ challah bread or croissants. there is nothing better in the world. (Though ice cream sundaes are a close second).
red velvet is my fav ever. second is chocolate with rasberry filling... then lemon chess or key lime...
Cake balls! My partner has been begging me to make these:

Go browse the recipes at smittenkitchen.com - it's totes food porn!
something i want to try and make: Hummingbird cake.
Something I know i love: yellow cake and chocolate icing cupcakes from a box ;o)
something easy and quite delicious - Banana Pudding
Cheesecake...closely followed by red velvet. Tiramisu. Creme brulee. Strawberry shortcake.
Given that you have the multi layer cake pan you could easily do a mehndi cake!
Cover the cakes in white icing and use a mehndi stencil with cocoa powder to make the design.

Oh my gosh that mendhi cake is GORGEOUS! I don't think i could do that! lol. My skills are not good! i could do like, chocolate paisleys, just one, on the top of each cake though..Good idea =]
Definitely cheesecake! And you can still do paisleys on the cakes!
I wonder if i can put cheesecake batter in the little wedding cake pans?!?!? They probably wouldn't come out of the mold easily. Thoughts?
@ejs- i think there is a reason that people usually use springform pans to do cheesecake... I don't see it coming out of the wedding cake pans clean :)
I'm adding to the Cheesecake list as my favorite!!!!
But I agree that they won't come out well in those pans...
Maybe you can do inspired cupcakes!!
Google Image "mehndi cupcakes"... I just did and there are come very simple designs on there.
I'm excited you get to do such a fun baking project! my oven is broken and I'm stressing that I can't bake anything!
I love tiramisu (which I can't eat now bc I'm pregnant), and it's pretty easy to make. I also love sticky toffee pudding, but I've never made it, so I don't know how it would hold up.
OT, but do you remember when Rachel made the "beef trifle" on Friends bc she misread the recipe? This thread reminded me of that. Sorry!! But I always giggle when I see a layered torte or trifle!
Those cake bites are awesome for parties with lots of guests - no messy cutting!! Here's some with the best of both worlds: cake bites...made of CHEESECAKE!
Things with chocolate: chocolate cake, chocolate brownies, chocolate cookies, chocolate icing. Nothing involving fruit, which I deem too healthy to be in my desserts.
Oh! I have another idea as well. My go-to summer dessert: fruit pizza. You can use any fruit you like, and it's baked on a giant cookie. Mmmm.
Recipe: http://homecooking.about.com/od/fruitrecipes/r/blfruit6.htm

My favorite dessert is carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Moist and rich.......yum!
Ok there are officially WAY too many good ideas here.
1) I think the cakes will be a challenge and VERY time consuming. I'd make like, 24, plus frost them with ganache and put some pastry cream in them. BUT they are also SUPER wedding-looking and I'm like, "oh, the shape of them!!! i must use them!!!". Sigh. I wonder if anyone else is bringing cake though, you know? But i also have a stand mixer to make quick work of it> i could bake them this weekend, freeze them then deal with them the day before
2) Cheesecakes!!! Yummy! But i must say, i've made it so many times i sort of hate making them, and I don't even have the proper springform pans, and I really don't want to have to buy pans AND ingredients.
3) Fruit pizza's a great idea! Very pretty, too. Also I know for a fact a brownie can be used instead of the cookie which is great, too =]
4) haha yep, every time i think of trifle I think of the Rachel incident. "Cake? Good! Jam? Good! Beef? Goooooood! What's not to love?!" hahaha. Except "it tastes like feet!" =D
@ejs: I know you aren't a chocolate fan, so this is out-- but, in my eyes, it's the perfect dessert!
Chocolate Ice box cake! It's a throwback to the 50's, it's so easy to prepare & tastes so yummy! I can't keep it in my house though because I usually eat it all myself. The wafers soften (but in a good way) and kind of blend together with the whip cream to make pure magic. lol

Every year on my birthday I allow myself a chocolate eclair. YUM. They're my favorite dessert ever!
But chocolate eclairs can be difficult to make, so I'll also echo the fruit tart suggestions. Those are so fabulous! Raspberry tart or strawberry pie = DELISH. Trifles are also fabulous, and versatile as well. :)
Personally, a big chocolate cake with buttercream roses can be just as wonderful as anything else.

I'm going to a friend's Mendhi night in 2 weeks and she asked if I'd bring a dessert. I said, "OF COURSE!" I love to bake, it's a good time. Instead of just slopping together a cake, I'd like to make something "pretty".
So what's tasty AND looks good? I'm sorta pulling a blank here.
Also i could make mini wedding cakes (like, 2 dozen maybe? I have this pan: http://www.amazon.com/Chicago-Metallic-4-cup-Nonstick-Multi-Tier/dp/B00188HVXW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1275500119&sr=8-1 ) and dip them or frost them simply and call it a day.
Any and all ideas welcome! I've scoured allrecipes.com, tasteofhome.com, and marthastewart.com but nothing's really saying MAKE ME.
