So we've narrowed down our 4 (4!) signature drink options to about six, which means two still need to get the cut. I figure this is a good time to do a taste testing (hey, after next week it's spring break, and Tuesday is my birthday!) so I'd love to hear any great drink recipes you have, and your favorites of these drinks. 

Keep in mind we'll also be having beer, wine, and champagne, but these will be our only cocktails. We're planning on using slightly higher end alcohol because a) I will never drink Smirnoff again and b) we can bring our own alcohol to our venue! 

Our top choices: 

1) Margarita on the rocks

2) Dirty Vodka Martini

3) Whiskey Sour

4) Hard Lemonade 

5) Sex on the Beach

6) Long Beach Iced Tea

(We're not doing 5 and 6, because they're somewhat similar and both require a lot of ingredients, but we're not sure which one to go with.)

@thefuturemrsgibbs - we'll have plenty of non-alcoholic options, of course! This is just a way for us to save money instead of having an open bar. 

@hotchild - yeah, it's the same as a Long Island but with cranberry juice instead of Coke. They're really good but they're lowest on my personal list, because it's a lot of ingredients. 

@Amani - one of my BMs works at Binny's! So she's helping me with the whole she-bang, and it's a lot less stressful. Otherwise I would have stuck to 2 as well. 

@Jackie-O - me too... my drink recipes consist of throwing what looks right in and taste testing until I get it right! or just going to a bar.

@SweetAdeline - I love margaritas on the rocks, too! I think that one is a shoo-in. They're my go to drink, although I'm generally not a sweet drink person, and tend to stick to the vodka martinis and wines otherwise. 

@Melissa - as a guest, what would you rather see? Both R and I have a pretty similar taste, so our lists tend not to turn up much variety. The Sex on the Beach was my "I don't like this, but I know other people do" option, so I'm definitely open to others!

Thanks! I'd definitely consider adding vodka tonics, I just figured they're kind of similar to vodka martinis comparitively? The hard thing about having signature drinks is trying to get a variety while still including drinks that the majority of people like. *Sigh* I think this is harder than picking the menu!

@daydream - that's sad! I love tequila. Most people hate it, though, so maybe it's not the worst thing to be allergic to? Oh well, the plus side of having four signature drinks is that most of them have different types of alcohol anyway, so hopefully someone will be able to find one that works for them, and if they don't there's always the beer, wine, and champagne. 

@veganglam - er, you could say that! I didn't even get sick, but I was in high school (senior year) and ended up drinking both Smirnoff and peach schnapps (after the Smirnoff ran out) and ever since then, I haven't been able to drink either of them. Or rum, but I never really liked rum. So Sex on the Beaches are definitely not my favorite drinks, although I can drink Long Beaches because the rum taste is fairly covered up. 

The poll is kind of all over the place, I'm going to add vodka tonics just for fun. I think in the end we won't be able to make everyone happy, but I'm just hoping that they'll be happy enough. At FSIL's wedding most of the guests drank wine and beer, so it'll be my family that's heading to the bar, and I know they love margs and hard lemonade, so hopefully any family friends, etc, will be okay with the other choices.
