Ooh cool, I will have to check some of those out! Mr. Burgundy loves Sufjan Stevens, and I think Pete Yorn is pretty good! I am pretty sure I have some Devendra Banhart at home but I can't recall...
I'm on this big indie kick right now since I went to a concert for one of my favorite artists, PlayRadioPlay!, last night. His show was awesome and I'm just so impressed with his talent! I also saw Lydia, who is a pretty solid band too!
@ doctorgirl- ok so I've seen Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Rogue Wave, and Spoon in concert- they were all GREAT! I love MGMT (I am so playing Electric Feel at our wedding too!!) and oh my goodness did you say Stars? Stars pretty much dominates our iTunes top 25 most frequently played songs list :)
If you like Pete Yorn be sure to check out Darron Hanlon and Andrew Bird. They remind me of him a bit.
@doctorgirl Mr. Rain would DEFINATELY agree with you on Aracade Fire and Vampire Weekend. He is also LOVING some Modest Mouse lately. Just bought the 7" orange vinyl.

Right now I'm trying to figure out what song I'm going to walk down the aisle to, and I'm stuck in between Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve (classic and moving) or Here We Are by Bloc Party (which is very me right now). I can't decide, but if there are any other great Indie aisle walk songs that you can think of right now, let me know!
@Rain- We definitely love some Modest Mouse, but I didn't mention them because I thought it might be too mainstream for you girls ;)
Right now I've been listening to "Peter Bjorn and John," "Matt and Kim," and "The Thermals"
Our whole reception is going to be indie-fied. I'm walking down the aisle to either Pixies or Sigur Ros, our first dance (if we do one) will be to "The Book of Love" by Magnetic Fields, etc. etc. I've spent so much time thinking about what music we're going to use! I've made a bunch of playlists on my ipod!

I love music, and there's nothing I love more than listening to fresh, new indie bands! Since I know there are a lot of starving/struggling but excellent musicians out there, I thought it might be fun to share our favorites :)
