My favorite part was during the meal when we looked out at all of our guests. Our photographers suggested we do this, just take in the moment and how many people were there to support us. It was a powerful moment! A close second was when we snuck into our suite (which was attached to the reception space) and stood on the deck overlooking the lake. We gazed at moon and stars over the lake and reminisced about how amazing our day was. We were only out there for about five minutes but it was so nice to sneak away and steal some kisses!

All of the above!  We did a first look which was really wonderful, and we had a really fun, special first dance that we took classes for–he’s a natural dancer and I am not, so it was great to feel confident together. It was just so special to see people happy around us, and know that we had enabled that.

@Merinda1994:  It really was a sweet moment! When you get married you focus mostly on you and your SO but when you’re sitting up there you realize that it’s really a blending of two sets of family and friends…all because two people fell in love! This picture always reminds me of that moment Smile

The first look was my favorite part of the day.  It was so nice to finally see my hubby to be and he kept me at ease. Everything after that was smooth sailing and it put into perspective when things were not going perfectly later in the day. Seeing friends and family was wonderful too, but that moment when your SO sees you for the first time on your wedding day is magical.

The whole day was honestly so incredibly amazing.

I had so much fun getting my hair done, helping my dad into his tux (LOL!!), riding to the ceremony with my friends, taking pictures with my BMS…..

walking down the aisle, listening to my husband’s vows, taking pictures at the park/gazebo, walking into the reception and hearing the applause of our guests….

dancing (and me bawling) to our first song, smashing cake in each other’s faces, the toasts, the DANCING!!!

And honestly I was SO SO overwhelmed seeing all of my family and friends in one place. I mean, I knew who would be there because of the RSVPs obviously but it was just so awesome to see them all in one place. Much of my family is spread out all over the US – Ohio, Wisconsin, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, etc – and to see everyone there was so touching.

I remember one moment in particular when I was making my way to the ladies room and I ran into my 2nd cousin from Wisconsin. When she turned around and I realized it was her (I hadn’t seen her in, like, 10 years), I just burst into tears. We aren’t particularly close or anything, but it made me feel so loved that so many people traveled so far to come see us and share our day.
