    Okay fellow decor loving bees:

Just wondering what some of your favorite stores are & for what items.

Crate and Barrel.  It's too expensive for most every day things, but for decor & misc. items, it's wonderful.  Vases, Candlesticks, kitchen utensils... love!

Target.  It's my fall back for everything.  Do I need a bathing suit, a bag of m&ms for a party or a toaster?  It's super for every day items & occasionally they will surprise you with affordable furniture.  We get a lot of linens here.  Got an awesome shower curtain for 30 dollars, all our towels & some window treatments.

TJMaxx/ Marshalls (Home Goods Stores).  I love these places too.  I'll hit here before Target most times.  I love this place for small furniture, glassware, kitchen items, lamps & gifts!  We've gotten nice bedding here & cheap lingere even :)

JCPenney.  Window treatments.  Great costs, simple designs, easy to work with.\

Bed Bath & Beyond.  Everything else!  Got our dishes & servingware here.  Great for seasonal furniture or needs & amazing for random kitchen needs.

What are your favorite stores?  And what do you buy there?

You know Jennifer, we have one about 25 minutes away, and I never think to go there for home decor, but everytime I do happen to go thru there, I see that they have wonderful deals.. perhaps I should pay closer attention...

Target and Ikea are great for inexpensive basics and furniture.. That's usually my first stop when I'm redecorating.

Anthropologie, Z Gallerie, and Pottery Barn are totally swoon-worthy for decor pieces.  They're a bit pricier but sometimes it's worth it.

Restoration Hardware is my pie-in-the-sky home decor place.  Way too pricey for everyday use, but if I got rich the first thing I would do is go there and say "Decorate my house please!"

25 miles seems far for just a trip to Kohl's!  :)  So, whenever you're in the area it's worth checking out.  They also always have great sales.

Ya know where else has some really cool, unique home accents- Urban Outfitter.  And again, always a sale.

You hit all the good ones.  I also love CB2, the less expensive sister store to Crate and Barrel.

MARSHALLS!!!! I just bought some amazing decorative dishes to display in a china hutch, a whole set for only $50! Great for flower pots too!!

Flea markets / Auctions!!! The options are endless with this one... especially at auctions you can find really neat  antiques for suuuper cheap!

Craigslist is GREAT for furniture... we got our sofa's on there for $400 and they retail for $1600!!!!!

and of course.... my FMIL's attic! You'd be surprised what awesome little knick knacks some people will have, especially people who don't throw anything away!

Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams - their company makes the sofas for Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn. Love that they are in North Carolina, provide great benefits for their employees, love dogs, and have personal relationships with the people who sell the furniture in their shops. Would love to meet them!

Jonathan Adler - whimsical, sometimes funky. Expensive, but well crafted. Another company that takes care of it's people.

Horchow - some of the stuff is insanely priced, but you can find some well made items with reasonable prices.

I agree with JC Penny for window treatments. I bought custom "to down, bottom up" blinds that were ridiculously priced years ago and they lasted a few years. I replaced them with JC Penny ones that are the exact same quality. I think they were $60 each.

I think West Elm and Pottery Barn have great decorative objects...though PB's prices sometimes surprise me. I've been really impressed with West Elm recently.

Used to love Restoration Hardware, but since they super sized the furniture, virtually eliminated color, cut most accessories, and put out a 616 page catalog, I dropped them. They're going after a different market now and I'm not part of it.

@mink:  You took the words right out of my mouth! I actually registered at Jonathan Adler for my wedding and received a few fun home decor items. Most people shy'd away from this registry though since it was a little unknown - Pottery Barn and C&B were much more popular. And I love Mitchel Gold Bob Williams as well, I need to go back there soon. The prices are quite reasonable and the furniture is nice.

My Mom brought up the Restoration Hardware catalog for me to look at for my oversized bare windows and I was just laughing because there is NO color and the prices are insane. If I had purchased JUST the hardware for one of my windows from RH it would have run me close to $600. That's not even including the curtains! Thanks but no thanks!

West Elm is my savior. The furniture is super stylish and everything is actually affordable. The only problem is, like Ikea, everyone knows where you got it.

Thrift stores, first and foremost! I get a lot of furniture (that I repurpose/reupholster/paint) at thrift stores and antique stores, and lots of vintage frames and wall art.

Second, I like to go to Marshalls and TJ Maxx. They seem to always have what I am looking for.

Pier One and World Market have some great things too, but sometimes it's too modern for me. I have to be careful what I get at these stores cause they can clash with all my "old" stuff.

I love Urban Outfitters for curtains and funky tchotckes.
