Hey Bees!
I just bought the deluxe edition of Fable III last night and I'm dying to go home and play it. I only play a few games, but I play them to death. My only other favorite is Resident Evil. My roomie and I skipped a few days worth of classes to play RE5 when it came out :).
Anybody else want to share their favorite video games?
I got Fable 3 on Tuesday!!!! It's awesome. I played for like 10 hours last night and was up way too late. I'm about halfway through it, but I think I'm going to start over. I'm wanting to do a couple things differently.
My favs are: any/all Zelda games, both Left 4 Dead games, the Fable games. I also really enjoy the Soul Calibur and Dynasty Warriors series.
@zippylef: Oooh! I haven't played Soul Caliber, maybe I should try it! I made myself stop playing at 1 a.m., and then I couldn't sleep because I was just thinking about Fable. It was ridiculous, I should have just stayed up, lol.
I am a gamer :) Not so much as of late due to my old computer being dead *weep*
I've been having urges to play WoW lately heh.
OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous!
I have been waiting for FIII forevvvvvvver. *cries*
I guess i'll just have to deal with Deadrising 2 and replaying Assasins Creed until I can bring myself to get over the consumer guilt and buy the damn thing.
soul calibre rocks me. but the game gets so darn hard (in the descending/ascending) after a while, great group game though!
I first played Dynasty warriors on PSP, and I was hooked for life. There's just something about cutting through swathes of people.. lol.
Anyone play Morrowind/Oblivion (or other Betheseda/Elder Scrolls games?), these games are like crack to me... there are times I will admit that I have stayed up all night playing... now the 360 is looking at me saying *play me!play me! screw the house work, you know you want to kill things!*
@missmouse29: You should buy it! :) I justify it by saying that it has such an incredibly high re-play value. I typically don't admit this, lol, but I played Fable II all the way through about eight times.
@finlandfairy: :( for your dead computer! I've never actually played WOW, but FI keeps trying to get me interested in it.
I was actually pretty disappointed in FI & II's re-play value, since the story arc doesn't really change a lot (or at all really..) I still loved playing them through the first time though!
Re-play value is why I love Morrowind/Oblivion/Fallout3, there are so so so many quests, side quest & the 'worlds' are so damn huge you could really play any of those games for a whole year and not progress at all within the main quest/storyline.
I'm going to check with my friend to see if he has bought/beat it yet, then I can just borrow it and romp the shit out of it for freeeeeeee! ( I like free!)
I hear the new game has a lot of new innovations from the last two, so I am pretty pumped to check it out!
@missmouse29: Lionhead was super proud of themselves for letting characters hold hands, but it's really just an extension of the "follow" expression. Cool, but not that cool, lol.
The storyline is great this time. My favorite part from the new stuff is how the upgrades have changed. It's a lot easier now to visually see how you're spending XP, whereas before, I would just sort of guess how much I was putting into each category.
FI got me hooked on WoW a loooong time ago. Haven't played in a while though cuz I'm poor. Heh. We've been playing League of Legends. Similar to Warcraft except hella easier... oh and free online game play helps. :)
@TinyTina: One of FI's friends was telling me about League of Legends. FI played for awhile, but he has game ADD. We're the complete opposites when it comes to that. I enjoy free, lol, so I would be way more likely to do that one!
Only an hour and a half til I get to go home to go play Fable some more! :-)
hollaaaaaa... xbox and wii player over here, and i've played a couple games on my brother's ps3 (loved playing and beating Heavy Rain!). On xbox my favourites are Red Dead Redemption & Gears of War :]
@missmouse29: I LOVE Morrowind/Oblivion. I had a character on Morrowind that had over a 100 hours of game-play on it. Did you hear that they announced Elder Scrolls 5 a couple months ago?
Ahh! We got fable too! :) I love games too, My FH and I play World of Warcraft together, and we both play other games as well.
I don't play. My fiance plays WoW, Oblivion, some star game where he has planets. He LOVES these games.
EDIT: The star game is called Spore.
I miss video games so much! My husband doesn't really get them, so he hates when I spend the day playing Final Fantasy. In fact, I really haven't been able to play since we started dating until my best friend, T-Tron, bought us a Wii for Christmas last year. We bought the gun and he's getting into Call of Duty. That said I WANT TO PLAY FABLE!!! It Looks AWE----SOME!!!
I play the same damn game I used to 15 years ago - Civilization 2. In the years past bought Civ 3 and Civ 4 also but they're not as fun. When I get a good empire going I can play for hours straight.
@meliss: You sound like me! I have my favorites, and that's what I stick to :).
@TheFutureMcBride: It's fantastically awesome :). You should sneak it in the house anyway, lol.
@Mrs. Louboutin: I looooooove Halo, but we don't have an Xbox anymore :( There's no shame in Halo! I spent my entire freshman year of college playing that game because I only had guy friends. We would hook up 2 TVs and play multi player... 7 dudes and Tina. Hah, now that's shameful.
@meliss: I agree, Civ 2 is the BEST. I tried 3 and hated it... never even bothered with 4. Civ 2 is just classic. Love that game.
@TinyTina: That's funny we both have gamer SO's and we like to play Civ2. If you were on the West Coast we could arrange a double play date :) My college bf was the one who had first bought me Civ2 as a gift while we were "taking a break" from the relationship, presumably to sabotage my social life and other dating prospects. It worked!
I want to buy Fable III sooo bad it's crazy! I play Fable II all the time but can't afford the third for awhile. The bad part is...I work at walmart and I'm going to have to walk past it like 5 times a day every day so that just makes me want it more. I don't play any other game but my FI plays CODMWF2 and Halo: Reach but he's going to go back to Halo 3 and get Black Ops when it comes out. He's a BIG gamer. lol
My SO plays Halo reach i'm not into Halo. His also a big madden fan goes to tournaments and everything. He actually got me back into gaming I hadn't played since middle school. I'm an xbox person I love it I find it better than ps3 even though we have one we only use it for blue ray. I do llike some games on ps3 like I loved God of war. I love gears can't wait til it comes out next year even though it got pushed back til Nov and Call of duty which comes out next month! I can't wait to play it I didn't like the last one.
Mr. E is a big gamer (with three systems in the house)... Right now he's playing Dead rising 2 and is trying to hold out until he finishes that to go and get Fable III. We just finished playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 and need to finish Super Mario Bros for the Wii (those are the types of games I like).
I did enjoy playing Left 4 Dead and Left 4 dead 2 with him. Some of his other recent purchases include, Alone in the Dark, Lego Harry Potter, Crackdown 2, Red Dead Redemption & metal gear solid 4.
When I just want something to do, I play the old Spyro games on our PS2. I really like playing Diablo 2, can't do it on my computer now though because my computer is dying slowly but I want to play again when I get a new computer!
My FH loves all those games--Fable, Wow, Left 4 Dead, etc and spends many nights up with Mt Dew! On the other hand, I'm a Mario Cart girl :) (I know that doesn't count in the world of gaming)
@Mrs. Loub - I hang my head with you. I play Halo: Reach when FI isn't home :-( Sometimes we play the online matchmaking together. LOL.
FI got me hooked on WoW. We took a break from it for a while (too much guild drama) but are back playing again. Still waiting for my chance to finally kill the Lich King, we were on that fight when we quit playing a few months ago. I feel like a total nerd for writing that.
omg! I can't believe there is no love for mass effect or mass effect 2... i <3 those so much! Try them! For xbox 360 and pc!
@Sandle: I actually did like Mass Effect, but I only played the first one recently, and I didn't want to start the second until after I got Fable III since that one takes priority for me :).
I preordered Fable III for FI (I say it was for FI, but it was really for me). I beat it already, but I restarted because I didn't like the ending I got, and I did very few of the side quests. FI has only recruited like two of the armies so far.
I also loooooved Dragon Age Origins...I "preordered Dragon Age II for FI," too when I picked up Fable III the other day. I want to get the expansion packs for Origins.
I also love all Final Fantasy games. My favorite was FF IX for the PS1. FF XIII was good, too, but not my favorite. I played FF XIII for a week straight when it came out (FI got it for me the first day of my spring break last year...he wasn't on break because we go to different schools, so I had a whole week home with nothing to do).
I can't play shooter games like Halo...they make me dizzy. I'm more of a turn-based game kind of girl. I can't play games that require me to jump at a certain time or do combos. I like simple controls with great story lines.
Elder Scrolls 5?
my jaw just hit the floor.
Morrowind was like a first love for me, especially once you get to a high enough level to make good use of the talking mudcrab (yes, I know I am a geek, and I am proud!)
& to the other ladies who play halo, ther is no shame in that! My partner & I played halo3 through together 3-4 times on each level of difficulty, and would even play xbl together, our fav time to play was around 4pm when all the HS kids would be on live, as it is too fun to mop the floor with teenagers (yes I do realize how pathetic this sounds haha).
@sandle I think we own mass effect, I just havent had the opportunity to play it yet, though my partner said it was pretty damn good (I like to beat a game & be done with it before moving on to another-- working, doing family stuff & renovating the house gets in the way of my video game playing).
@jolee alright, looks like I need to try fable... I've actually been looking for a new game (or old game) to play. I played fallout 3 for a while, but I felt like it just got tedious with all of the getting lost in the sewers. Let me know how you like mass effect 2... its so my fav.
@Sandle: Fable is awesome!! Although I only got to pay Fable I :( But that was still great!! We are a PS household (thank god Oblivion is on PS!!) And I would love to play Fable II and III!!! Maybe one day...
::raises hand::
ME!! Hubby and I actually met in an MMORPG though it's not one most of you would know - it's older (from the AOL days, LOL) and text based.
I play lots of Final Fantasy - currently finishing up XIII and I bought XIV when it came out, though I haven't had much time to play it with all the work stuff I have going on lately.
I also love Mass Effect (1 & 2), Fable (have only played II but plan to get III soon), Need for Speed Underground and other racing games, etc.
The only games I can't play are first person shooters - they give me horrible motion sickness to the point where I will vomit. It's weird because nothing else gives me motion sickness!!
@TinyTina: I have played both horde and alliance and, though horde is tougher and pretty cool, I like alliance better. lol
I'm still waiting to get Fable III...it's so hard to wait but since I have no money I guess I'll just have to. :(
Ooo I missed this thread when it was posted! I love games...and have so many favs!
Console based, I like Zelda, Final Fantasy, Fable (any), Bioshock, Dead Space, and any Resident Evil. Fable 3 is on my Christmas list right now!
Computer based, Morrowind and Oblivion are the only two I play that aren't MMOs.
I played Lord of the Rings online for ~3 years, and recently took a break from boredom with end-game content. I'm currently playing WoW with DH (Horde all the way!).
Anxiously awaiting the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO!
I've always loved games but never was into "gaming" until I met my FI. He played Star Wars Galaxies when we met and I created a character just so I could understand what he was talking about. When that game went to crap he switched to WOW which we both played for almost 3 years. We quit about 4 months ago after our guild blew up because the leader was a douche. We were in the top Alliance guild on our server though at the time. Both of us were very geared out druids (him -Bear/Cat, me- Cat/Boomkin). I miss it every now and then, but we've had SO much more free time now that we're not addicted to raiding hehe. Wii/Xbox (Dragonage!!) is enough for me. And FI gets his MMORPG fix by playing EVE.
@missbiscuit: Your post made me wanna play WoW again and reminded me how much the word "Boomkin" amuses me.

I got all excited the other day cos my fiance has a PS3 and I found out they released Sims 3 for PS3 and I loooooooove The Sims. Anyway, then I saw a magazine with a price and it was just ridiclous so now I'm sulking :P
Not me. They make me really dizzy! But my husband is. He keeps saying he wants Final Fantasy 7 but aparently he said they don't make it anymore so I'm trying to get it on ebay but its like $50.00! hmmm where else could I find this game????
