Trader Joe's Frozen Mandarin Orange Chicken with the Jasmine rice that you also buy frozen. It's my all time favorite there! Oh, and any of their cookies!!
@bpcmarj: Thank you! I am always looking for good meals to take to work, etc. Is it weird that I plan on bringing a cooler to keep them cold while we are at the hockey game, LOL?!
Our TJ's just opened Friday and I am very excited! For junk food the vanilla cream sandwich Joe Joe's are awesome. I don't know how they make those so yummy. Also the Pub Cheese with jalepenos is really good. I also like their fresh breads, chai tea latte mix, chile verde burritos (frozen), honey mustard and onion pretzel bites, everything pretzel slims and veggie and flaxseed chips. And fruit leathers. I think that's all for now, haha.
Love Trader Joe's!!! I like their peanut butter, trail mix (they have nuts/dried fruit divided into individual bags, which makes it easy for lunches), hummus, juices... I thinking regular grocery type stuff, but they also have good items for entertaining: yummy frozen desserts (chocolate covered banana bites!), frozen appetizers (mini pizzas or tacos), and chocolate covered berries that are fun to put out when people come over.
@Natalieh86: All of that sounds great! Thanks for the recommendations! I am so excited! Last time we went to Whole Foods we were in such a hurry we didn't buy anything, just ate the salad bar. The only time I have been to TJ's was buying wine for our wedding. Needless to say, I am pretty excited!
We just got an organic/natural market, but their selection is pretty small! Lots of great produce and meat, but not a lot else.
@Lindsay12.31.2010: The closet TJs to me is at least a half an hour away so I always bring an insulated bag with me:)
@Natalieh86: If you like the regular Joe Joes, you should try the candy cane ones that come out around Christmastime!
I like a lot of the trader joe's frozen asian inspried entrees. The pork buns are really good and so are the chicken dumplings. I don't know how well mochi ice cream would hold up in a cooler but it is REALLY good!
I found this blog at work one day while trying to decide what to buy.... I am thankful I don't have a 2 hour drive. In general I prefer TJ's over WF.
Oh yeah mini beef tacos are really good too. I really love trader joe's if you haven't figured it out.
@MyFavouriteChords: Thank you for the link! Checking it out now. Making a list :-) DH is shaking his head. He doesn't understand me. ;-)
@bpcmarj: I've heard about those and am defintely looking forward to the peppermint ones!
Also I thought of something else . . . the Island Soyaki marinade is really good.
@Lindsay12.31.2010: Ha TJ is a big deal! Here's a picture of the opening here. Apparently a few people slept in the parking lot to be the first ones in.

We're members of the Trader Joe's family so it's the only place we shop! Our favorites:
The 4 cheese pizza (frozen)
The chicken chow mein
Sparkling Frenchberry lemonade
Gluten free Snickerdoodle cookies
Kettle Corn
Baked mac and cheese
Coastal cheddar cheese on their guilt-free woven wheat crackers
oh and their gluten free brownie mix actually makes the best brownies I've ever had. No one believes they are gluten free!
@Lindsay12.31.2010: We always pick up a few packages of the TJs uncured applewood smoked bacon, we stick them in the freezer and thaw when we want bacon. I like the cranberry oatmeal dunkers (cookie), the lemon blueberry scones, and pretty much any of their dark chocolate. This week we picked up brussel sprouts on the stalk (hubby makes some great roasted veggies with them)-I think the veggies at TJs are fresher than at the supermarkets here. There are a couple of sauces I usually pick up, the masala simmer sauce, vodka tomato sauce, island Joe's Soyaki (teriyaki) sauce and they have a really good peanut-y satay sauce.
Oh, and we always pick up some of the Granny Smith hard apple cider. :)
I wish I had either nearby!! The closest one is over an hour away. Although, it's close to 2 of my girlfriends houses, so maybe the next time I take a trip to see them, I'll make a stop.

We live about 2 hours away from either, but we will be in the area a few times over the next few months (hello, hockey season!) and I want to stock up! So what are your favorites? I have only been to each one once.
Two buck chuck is a given, but what do you like, food wise?
