For our wedding favors I wanted to do something that people will actuall use (or in my case eat). I was thinking about doing caramel apples. I was going to make them all myself. I was wondering if anyone had done this before. Was there anything you would have done differently or any suggestions? All help will be greatly appreciated!

That's a great idea. I thought about that idea myself, except buying the bride & groom apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. They are so neat.

I bet if you find pictures online and get the right fondant/icing you can do it. It will just be a lot of work.

I think that is a great idea--I did a lot of reading the "best/worst favors" threads and everyone loves food! I would love to get that as a favor.  Especially homemade!!!

We have a nautical theme so I am leaning towards these, they come with 10 pieces of saltwater taffy or fudge and taffy with a knife.

Food always wins!  I liked the idea of etched champagne glasses until I read how everyone else seems to hate things with the bride/groom's names on them.  Plus my FI pointed out that any favors we get just get moved around the house until we finally either store them or throw them out, unless it's edible!

Oh, and if you google "brownie pop wedding favors" I saw a ton of beautiful designs, maybe you can adapt them for caramel apples.

I found these too--dipped in chocolate over the caramel, I think that would make it easy to decorate if you don't just want to roll them. You could do your colors with the meltable chocolate pastels.
