I think the recipe book is an adorable and really unique idea! Definitely something that could be used.

My second choice would be macaroons :)

Love the recipe book idea!  Add family recipes, for an added touch of personalization.  Love it!

    THanks for all your feedback!!

For recipe book...I was thinking of one of the following:

    1. Design, Upload, and print the recipe collections into a paperback book with color cover and attach photos for pictures of food.

    or

    2. Print recipes and photos on nice paper or cardstock paper and bind them using ribbon, thread, or spirals

    SPIRAL

Print recipes and photos on postcard size and bind them with spirals

Sorry can't find a better example haha but this would be the size and material

Definetely the wine.  I am not normally a fan of favors, and not having them (seems like throwing money away), but wine is ALWAYS useful. :)

I love both the wine AND recipie book ideas!  If I had to pick, I would pick wine all the time cause I looooove it.... but I also do really like the idea of a recipie book.  I am very torn. :)

I voted recipe books because I would love something like that. Also love the wine idea too though. I think it might be enjoyed by more guests, because not everyone enjoy cooking.

    Thanks for everyone's input!!

Looks like Recipe Book and Macaroon got the most votes :)

If I go with Recipe book, Im thinking of printing them on post card size color stock paper and bind them either with ribbon or spirals...

I think it's a tough one. I think favors outside of edible are hard to cater to everyones taste. I am envisioning my own guests and what they would like, I can't see my 20 something nephews liking a recipe book nor my male coworkers but I also can't see some of my family or friends liking wine either. I personally do not like wine but you'd probably have more people get use out of wine. I tend to think edible is the way to go., just my opinion. You do get an A for a clever idea though! :)

We did mini wine bottles at my sister's shower. We bought them at the grocery, they came 4 in a case, and tied a ribbon around them and they are a BIG hit. We had none left over.

Thanks everyone for all the response!! really appreciate it!! Helps to know what ppl think--Since many are couples that are coming to the wedding. I think we will do half recipe books and half wine or macaroons. And alternate on them on seating charts so they get a little of both :) Cheers!!

One thing to consider when you choose the favors is that you WILL have leftovers, because I can promise you, not everybody will take their favor home.

Would you rather bring home 30 recipe books or 30 macaroons?

I am a cooking and baking person, so absolutely recipee books, esp if you and FI compiled it yourselves, I think that's very original.

Crispeecreme, where did you find that one ribbon bound book?  The ivory colored one, very cute, even for a program. I'm very interested in elegant looking vbook bindings.

As a non-drinker (of which there may be a few at your wedding) I say go for something everyone can use--everyone eats food, and a recipe book is also a cute idea (though I like the idea of a consumable because most people already have way too much Stuff)
