@Wonderwoman217: Try to hold off looking. FB announcements always seem to be annoying, and if yore waiting I KNOW they're annoying. In a way, I'm kinda glad V-Day is on a Monday - it kinda helps with the lowering of my expectations knowing we're both at work today, and have to work tomorrow.
I hope your day gets better, even if it doesn't end with a non-naked finger. If he doesn't ask today, you'll have Valentine's Day AND your "engeament day" to celebrate. :) In fact, you should feel sad for the ladies who get asked today - it's kinda like having your birthday at Christmas, where people ump the two together instead of getting both holidays as seperate :)
I've lucked out! No engagements on my feed!
(Let's ignore the fact that there are no couples left TO get engaged because I'm one of the last ones...sigh.)
@Taylor4: lol - Yeah, we're the last here among the "first tier friends". I'm sure someone'll pop up before today's over among the more aquantancy "FB friends".. then agan, I could swear all my high school classmates are also all married. Sigh.
Haha...I used to work at a wedding venue, and we're drawing to the close of what we like to call "engagement season" (= booking season = $$$ season...). It starts around Thanksgiving time. In a week or so, your newsfeed should be back to normal.
I haven't seen any today luckily, although most of the people on my fb are single (:
@Taylor4: I'm in the same boat.
There are no engagement announcements on my FB because the only one left to be announced is ours! Boo to that!
I swear though, if I were to log on and see that the couple who's been dating like 6 months is engaged... I think I'd lose it haha.
Oh, but one thing that kinda bugged me was I was invited to some couple's stag & doe... and I don't even know them! Some chick on my FB just sent out a mass invite to all her friends.
I guess it's good almost none of my friends are in serious relationships so I don't have to suffer that!

I know whatcha mean. I had one today so far, but that's because all of my attached friends are already engaged or married....
I've only had one, but she was a Waiting Bee, so she's good. :) I doubt I'll have anymore. Most are married already or single.
I'm not even waiting and I'm completely nauseated by facebook today. That's because PMS is making me all stabby, though, and I'm fairly certain FI hasn't gotten me anything yet, even though he's been well aware of this particular impending holiday for quite some time now. I will likely get some wilted roses and a half eaten box of chocolates later.
Don't have any waiting facebook friends, so at least I'm safe from those posts. :) An alarming number of my facebook friends seem to be getting divorced lately, though. Wonder what that's all about...
@Wonderwoman217: dude, for REAL. This feels like the MOTHER of all pms weeks too, I don't know WHAT the deal is. She better start flowin' soon or I swear to god, I might ACTUALLY stab someone.
Love this site. I subscribed to its FB page, too. http://myhormonesmademedoit.com/
heh... I think my FI started the trend of our friends finding their "special someone". The sucky part is the fact I've waited 8 freaking years to even START planning the wedding despite having the ring! And TWO of his family members have gotten married in that time! (I didn't get to go to either, dang it.)
Then, there's the thing where it seems either someone I know, or we both know, is getting pregnant and having a baby. Which is just as BAD as everyone you know getting engaged around you.
So, I can sympathize! Enjoy lots of chocolate... lots and LOTS of chocolate... or a good stiff drink (and have one for me, too, since I can't drink due to an allergy *cries*)
@Wonderwoman217: Stay away from le Facebook today
Instead try to distract yourself. This is one of those moments that I break out my emergency stash of books I havent read
I say attempt to read a book until your SO wakes up

...with the engagement announcements. Two, yes, two, already, and it's not even noon yet. Dammit.
Maybe before the day's over, I can be one of those annoying ppl who announce their engagement on FB? I can dream, I guess........
