When it comes to the yard of a house, what do you like, love & hate? Are you someone who spends hours out in the yard, or do you only head out to grab the mail before scooting back in? What do you feel makes the space more enjoyable?

And of course, a poll, because I know we all love polls. :)

    So I did a lot of selecting....lol.

I love tall trees in the front of homes...especially 2 story or more homes. I think it adds curb appeal. I prefer greenery more than flowering plants in the front although I do have a few flowers. I try to plant a variety of things so that there is never a time when my plant beds are bare. My front yard is mainly for "show". We do most of the hanging out in the backyard. I have a patio, but honestly I spend more time laying on a blanket in the yard. I have a fence and would love a deck but just haven't gotten around to it. I wouldn't mind having one that has a built in fire pit.

Oooo - I missed patios and decks!  I would have voted for them too. I voted for flower gardens, fences, fire pits.  I like lots of space in a back yard so I wouldn't go for too many features...

Since I have 2 border collie a large open fenced in yard is a must. Nice manicured grass is good, but flowers don't work too well for us. Also I like to entertain to a fire pit, patio, and grille are great. And my hope is to someday have an inground pool!

I love large established trees in a neighbourhood, that's so important to me. The raking in the Fall isn't always fun though ;)  We spend all of our time out on the back deck bbqing and enjoying our view. When we renovate we plan on putting in a hot tub and an outdoor kitchen. DH wants an outdoor pizza oven apparently (?!). Our yard is very steep (leads down to a river) so it's not ideal for lush lawns, etc, but I'd like to have a bit of green space for a little jungle gym when we have kids. I like having relaxing space for family and friends to hang out with comfy outdoor furniture and I'm totally on board with the hammock!

Landscaping of any kind! Garden beds, neatly trimmed lawns and hedges, flowers, big old trees, patios and fire pits...I love it all! I really like working outside, so the work is welcome. Neglected yards make me depressed, haha.

I HATE gardens I like my lawn & deck. My mom has 24 gardens and when we were a kid she kept making more and more gardens and taking away our lawn to play on so I hate them now and wont let FH have one :)

I want a hot tub. My parents have one and it's great.  Actually at the moment I'd settle for a yard almost any yard since all we have in our condo is a balcony.

I love love love a nice lawn, a few trees for shade, a big deck for grilling, sine gardens (but not too many-that can be a lot of work!). We were outside all the time this past summer and ate on the deck pretty much every night. Now that the weather is getting cooler I already miss being outside.

Also, fences definetly do make good neighbors!

I like yards that look effortlessly styled, rather than contrived. There is nothing worse to me than evenly spaced pansies covering a bed, ya know? Lots of varying heights, textures, plants. Maybe some stonework. Nothing that looks too forced.

In terms of back yards, I love patios, fire pits, fenced yards, and shrubbery. I like when my friends have pools... but I wouldn't actually want one. :)

I like a lot of yard, and a lot of landscaping. I like things to run a little wild, though, too.

My dream would be to have a huge outdoor room with a kitchen for entertaining, as well as a pool.

My husband likes, as he calls it "Disney flowers." Basically he loves perfectly rowed and sculpted plants and flowers, as well as an immaculate yard.

I like lots of shade, patios, FIREPITS (on the list before "winter" comes) I like flowering flowers- plan toplant tulips this weekend- but I like shrubs too so there is always some color.
