I am so excited to be having a February wedding. I would like to have my wedding on 2/29/??. I just love the idea of a winter wedding, with all of your wedding pictures including snow :). From what i've seen pretty much everyone wants to be married in October some time, so i'm going to break that trend and go for February! October is just too busy a month, it is the #1 month for birthdays (it has more than twice the amount of births than any other month) and I believe it's #1 for weddings, too! Wouldn't you want to be different than everyone else, lol! February is such a rare month for weddings/anniversaries/birthdays it's so awesome I love it! Also, i've heard the prices are lower, so why would anyone want to go for something cliche like October? Everyone is wed in that month! Try something different from everyone else, that is my advice for everyone! I'm sure i'll be one of the only people who is getting married in February, just because it's a very original idea - but I just love Feb., don't you?

I haven't noticed More people with Stuff going on in October...I think it might just be it's that time of year here. lol. Many brides find themselves on here really close to their date.

I love the idea of a feb wedding! But I didn't want to be cold, and it's the same month as my birthday, valentines day, and several anniversarys in my family. = )

@luli29:haha, I rest my point :P Literally everyone in my family has a birthday in october, except for me. and my best friend just celebrated her 21st on 10/10/10.Plus (well at least myself) have heard about birthdays just randomly constantly throughout this month, and it's weird how in November the birthdays suddenly disappear:P I know 7 people (not all directly, but through association) who got married this October. I'm not trying to be rude at all, I just wonder if it's kind of a trend to be married in October or why everyone wants to do it? I kind of pride myself in being unique too. I wouldn't want to be married in October because obviously it's the most popular month to begin with, i'd rather do something much more....rare/unique? I don't know, weird huh lol. Oh, that reminds me my friends son turns four on the 25th lol! Another b-day! And my boyfriend's birthday is October 28th and he hates it because he agrees that everyone bday is this month he says hes jealous haha.

I also love that i'm born in February, and I literally know no one who is born in February and it's very rare :)

@His Barista:Yeah, see I just joined this community - but it's just people I know directly or through association who are getting marred this month, seven in total. And trust me i'm not that popular so that's a lot of people for me haha :P

Yeah, I love the month of February - how it's just so different. I mean, shortest month of the year, 29th only comes once every four years! Plus you will struggle to find someone born in February or wed in February. I also like December it's my favorite month (aside from Feb). Hehe, maybe I just like winter weddings period. It also doesn't hurt that because so few people want to be wed in the winter, the prices are typically cheaper (at least that's what I heard.).

But yeah, I suppose a lot of people in this community wed in October, too =)

@xrigorxmortis: Originally I wanted to get married in May...because that is the month my hubby and I started dating...but I figured October is  nice month too...with all foliage in New England and all. I really didn't want a wedding in the summer, when it was hot and stuffy, or in the winter, where I'd freeze my butt off.

And yes, I too notice there are lots of birthdays in October. My only reasoning..people probably "get busy" in the beginning of the New Years season? lol. Don't know.

@luli29:Aw, i'm sorry you couldn't get married in May, I don't know a lot of people who have weddings then!

haha, I guess you must be right about the "getting busy" in January-ish thing. I guess I just wonder if it bothers you personally that so many people have birthdays in the same month as you. Like, my boyfriend says it does bother him, because when his birthday gets here everyone is so sick of hearing about October birthdays that it makes his less special. Like oh yeah, it's my bday this month. Well whose birthday isn't this month kind of thing. I guess it's just more of how annoying it is .... idunno. When/if I have children, i'll deffinitely steer away from that time of year, because I want my children to feel unique and special. Or does it bother you that you got married in the #1 month to be married? Just wondering.

Actually, the #1 birthday month is September (although the #1 day is 10/5).

...Buuut my wedding is in Feb and I too was born in October :)

I like that people will get to travel away from winter to California in winter!

Our daughter was born in February (the 13th!) and we started dating in February, way back at the beginning of time. Our wedding is in April (the 2nd) and we are still getting some deals because it is fairly early in wedding season.

You mentioned December... December is my busiest month of the year. I have eleven birthdays, including my own, and then Christmas. My next busiest is September with four birthdays and my sister's anniversary.

February is pretty crappy here.  We don't really get winter in this area, it just gets grey and rainy.  But fantastic for you if it's beautiful where you are.

i wanted a spring wedding but my brother is in the marine corps and is going over seas for 14 months at the end of february so i had to get on it and plan a wedding before he left. Now that it has settled in im really excited for a february wedding. Its def not wedding season, thats for sure. i live in NC so our winters are unpredictable.. it could be 32 degrees and snowing or 70 degrees and sunny. im kind of hoping for snow but i wont hold my breath. it maybe snows 3 times a year here. oh! and ill be on my honeymoon for FI's 26th birthday!

It's amazing how much easier not getting married 'in season' is. For example, getting good deals on dresses or alterations, scheduling appointments, and negotiating prices = a million times better! Granted, we'll be marrying in my fiance's home country instead of snowy New England, but it's still made planning a little easier (and easier to convince guests to come take a vacation!)

@CorgiTales: Yes that's true! That's one reason why we picked that weekend because we figured it would be less busy for weddings. :)

When is everyone sending out their invites, or have you already and I'm just behind? :o

@farmersgirl: No idea! I'm sooo behind, but we are trying to send them out right before Christmas. We were going to right after, but FI's mom suggested before so people could hit up Christmas sales for gifts if they wanted. However, with the way things are going, it will probably be after. lol.

Is anyone else behind in their to-do lists? I don't know how we're going to get everything done in time.

I feel so far behind. This weekend is invitation-put-together-extravaganza. We're hoping to send them out relatively soon since the wedding is in a different country. Crazy!

i was originally planning to be an April bride but now I'm a February bride! YES, we moved the wedding up, but NO, i am not pregnant! :) there were several bridal party conflicts with the April date so we thought 'why not?'

waiting on the invites to arrive in a few weeks so I can get them in the mail. . .starting to address the envelopes now. . i am trying my hand at calligraphy.

have pretty much all my vendors except. . we need to find a cake baker! we are going tasting this weekend so hopefully can nail that down.

i'm excited that my shower is being planned for Jan 22 or 23rd, and my guy is having a bachelor party the same weekend. . .those types of things make it all seem so real!

now i am trying to pick out a veil. . .that is what is giving me the most trouble. (see my 'lace vs polka dots' thread) ;)

i agree, February is the best! :)

I was married Feb. 28th. We met on leap year, got engaged Feb. 28th a year after that, and got married one year later.

@totheislnds: haha. . i will wish for snow on the 12th for you, if you will wish for 70 degrees in Durham the next weekend on the 19th :) you are right about NC winter weather being unpredictable!

I don't know, I live in the NC mountains and last year, it seemed like once winter hit, it was snowing every single weekend.  I hope it doesn't snow on the 12th-14th. I don't want my wedding to get snowed out and have to reschedule it and not be able to go on our honeymoon after.  :(

@quidditchqueen: ok, i won't wish for snow on the 12th after all ;) yes that is my biggest fear about changing the date. . .that it will snow and people will have problems traveling. here in the Triangle it is usually pretty mild and snow is very rare. . .but you just never know. on the plus side. . .for those who could make it, I think a snowy wedding would be beautiful in the mountains!
