So my ring has been shipped (YAY!!!), and I’ve been tracking it obsessively. Since 8AM this morning (it is now 12:30 PM), it has been “At local fedex facility”/”At fedex destination facility”. Except…that’s in a city 2 hours from me. I don’t understand! Can you explain? I don’t want to call and ask, cuz it seems like a pretty stupid question.

I know you are excited about your ring, but the truck that it is loaded on has to make other deliveries before they get to you. We order stuff that ships via FedEx all the time, and it usually takes all day to get to us from just the town over. The destination facility is the facility where it will get on a truck to be delivered to you.

@noritake22: OK that makes sense. I am being patient, I just want to make sure it does in fact get to me and not have another lost ring. This is the same city where my previous ring “disappeared from tracking” so I’m a little paranoid!
I guess I just assumed once it was being delivered (on the truck), it would say “in transit” again, rather than just saying it was at the “destination facility”.

When my wedding band was shipped I tracked it obsessively too 🙂 I’m in FL, and the first update I got was that it left the sorting facility in NY, tracking # said the same thing for three days until finally there was a 2nd update telling me it was processed the previous night through a place 2 hours north of me- it showed up a couple hours later that day. So yeah- tracking my package was essentially useless because I never knew where exactly it was. I would call if it doesn’t show up by tomorrow.

Does it actually say “out for delivery” ? It might not be out for delivery today – or yet. It usually has an estimated delivery date. Is that today, or maybe tomorrow? You can always call FedEx to clarify – not stupid! It’s your ring, it’s exciting 🙂

@tarlonda: It’s supposed to be here today by 5, and it says that it’s still on time. But it does not say “out for delivery” (or anything of the such) yet.
