I like Jude and I also like the name Ava. I'm not a fan of Cheyanne because the spelling of it reminds me of Cayenne like the pepper
I like Jude Richard and Ava. I'm also not a fan of Cheyenne... it's too country for me. I hear it way too often and I know at least 2 dogs named Cheyenne too haha.
@bells- I love the name Cheyanne, but I am not fan of the spelling. I have to see if there are other spellings. I watched the show Reba and loved the daughters name.
I do like the traditional spelling of Cheyenne, but otherwise, great names! Very cute.
ETA: Oh, I was going off of the spelling of Cheyenne, Wyoming. I've never seen it spelled with an a.
I like Jude! I do not like Cheyenne. The association with a Native American (unless you are of Cheyenne heritage, then I take it back! Sorry!) as well as a city are not my favorite.
Edit: Woah! I didn't see that A in there. Still not a fan... in fact probably forever people will call her Cheyenne. Is it pronounced shay-anne?
@Mrs.ChubbyBunny- I hear you about the dog names. My dogs names are in the top 10 for children lol.
Cheyanne Ava blends a bit to me - comes out like Cheyannava - maybe a middle name starting with a consonant? Cheyanne Marie, Cheyanne Rebecca for example.
I think she'd probably constantly get people misspelling her name and it's not my fave, but hey, you get to name your own baby ;)
Does anyone like the spelling of Sheyanne better?
I know it's pronouced shy-anne, but I don't really want her to have shy spelled out in her name.
@roxy821: Sheyanne is odd looking to me. Are you opposed to the traditional spelling?
@LGenz- No I'm not opposed. But I was trying to do a little variation from the tribe, but I don't know if it would be a big deal because we aren't from anywhere near there.
@skipper2010- I love Ava Cheyanne, but DH will not do Ava as a middle name so I flipped them.
I LOVE Cheyenne!!! Such a country name, and I'm a country girl so I'm partial :) A friend of my husband has a daughter named Cheyenne and it's so cute and perfect for her. It's so cute when her dad talks about her, she's his little lady for sure. I agree that Ava isn't the best middle name for Cheyenne, maybe Rose? And the traditional spelling is a must in my book, otherwise it just looks like you mispelled it.
As for Jude, I'm just over that name. I do like Richard though.
I like Cheyanne Ava well enough. I've heard enough Hey Jude jokes to dislike it (and it reminds me of Judas - but oddly, I don't mind Judah), and Richard is... too easy to associate with the nickname.
What about Shianne, if you are reluctant about the traditional spelling?

Off your original questions, but I love the name Stella for a girl. Except I named my college car Stella. Would it be weird to use a name I used for a car for a girl? (my parents still refer to Stella the car, so they are definitely aware of the connection.)
Lesson learned - don't name inanimate objects (or pets) the same thing you might want to use for a child someday?
Also, have I been mispronouncing the Wyoming capital all these years? I always thought it was "shy anne" like Roxy wants her daughter's name pronounced . . .
I think Cheyanne/Cheyenne/Shyanne sounds really country, and to me has more of a hick/trashy connotation than a cutesy one. I live in Texas though (not sure where you live?) and have probably encountered more of them than average. I think Ava is classy, so the contrast is nice, and more than anything your opinion is what matters. Once the name belongs to a cute little girl, all previous ideas about it will fly out the window, anyway. If you love those names, go for it!
I know some of you don't really care for Richard, but that's not up for discussion even if I wanted it to be. Every older man in our families name is Richard and I don't want it as a first but I need to please everyone.
@Mojo Milosc- That's funny that you have heard of a lot of Jude's. I have never heard that name on an actually person besides celebrities. DH and I want a short strong masculine name, any other suggestions?
@Goldilocks1107- Love Stella, but I know a couple of dogs so that is why I personally wouldn't consider it.
@pinkpaperbride- Cheyanne or however you would spell it is not a common name at all but I am also in the northeast. I just picture a little blonde blue eyed girl when I think of it. I can't believe it is hick/trashy in Texas, awww.
