Hi everyone! I am in a wedding this upcoming weekend. My friend’s brother is her “man of honor” but she wants to me say something too, since I am next in line. How does this sound? I want to touch up a few things but this is my rough draft.
-Good evening everyone! For those of you who don’t know who I am, I’m Kristina. Laura and I have been close friends since middle school. We had a few classes together and became inseparable. We hung out every weekend and passed each other notes in school. We formed crushes on boys together….. this was before the days of Facebook, so we would go rollerblading past their houses in an effort to see them.
After the end of 8th grade, Laura’s father got a new job which required them to move from X to Y. I was devastated, but held onto some hope. I thought, how perfect, since my family and I lived in Eldridge for a short period of time before we moved to X, I figured, hey, maybe it might be easy to convince my parents to move back to Y! No such luck, Laura moved there and I stayed in X
In high school, we visited each other during the summers. When we went off to college…..her to A and I to B, we planned weekends to hang out. Even though we were never in the same places, our friendship remained the same…staying in touch and keeping each other in our lives. I’m so lucky to have a friend like Laura who is always there, no matter how many miles apart we are.
The first time I met Jason, I knew they were the perfect match. They make each other laugh and get each other’s quirky jokes. I knew there was something special between them. I had never seen Laura happier.
I was so happy to have Laura in my wedding, on the most important day of my life, and feel very honored to be here on one of their most important days.
I wanted to share a quote with you, “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person”….so here’s to Laura & Jason, falling in love with each other many more times!
