Could this be a mild case of morning sickness? I don’t have any other symptoms except my tummy being in knots as we just found out we were expecting 4 days ago and are still in shock (good shock). 🙂
Anyone else having symptoms they didn’t expect? Let me know if you’ve also felt like gagging.

I’ll be 20 weeks tomorrow and I still gagg every morning. Ain’t it fun 🙂 I’m sure it will all be worth it in the end good luck with your pregnancy.

I had LOTS of gas and diarreah that I didn’t expect. I thought I was going to explode. I kept trying to figure out what I had eaten that gave me such bad issues, but then it dawned on me that I should take a test. Bingo.

Gagging was definitely a big part of my morning/all-day sickness.
Other symptoms I didn’t expect: bleeding gums, gigantic uber sensitive boobs, and a really strong aversion to smells

I dry heave everyday. (10 weeks pregnant) While brushing teeth, in the shower, in the bathroom at work, driving to work. I have rarely vomited, but dry heave daily. Very, very common in pregnancy. If it gets worse, try preggy pops! That’s what I use. 🙂 Oh and congrats!!

Congratulations on your BFP!
I started out before I even got my BFP with heartburn and acid reflux (it might explain the gagging). My boobs went up and entire cup size the first week I knew and I went from having the hungry horrors to hating any type of food. I now get violently sick every morning when I try to get ready and remain nauseaus for the rest of the day.

yep, this is totally part of morning sickness.
my gag reflexes went crazy from the beginning (about 5 weeks) all the way until 25 weeks. I couldn’t even brush my teeth without gagging a ton!

@Jenn23: To prevent gagging on your toothpaste while brushing, I highly recommend picking up some kids toothpaste. It’s super mild and contains more flouride than adult types. It’s the only thing that doesn’t make me gag while brushing my teeth. I like my bubble gum flavored toothpaste. When you have your dental checkup, request the kids cleaner as well. My dentist was awesome about using the kids cleaner instead of the mint. He totally understood as his assistant had morning sickness throughout her pregnancies.
I’m almost 17 weeks and still gag every morning. It’s better than throwing up completely. If the gagging gets worse, I throw up. It’s usually based on smells that my gag reflex go nuts. Also, I already had a bad gag reflex prior to pregnancy, funtimes!

I gag…… and then I gag and then I gag some more…… I have a cold and I cough until I gag…. It is definitely a symptom of morning sickness. It sucks but it gets better. There are lots of crappy things that are offset buy a ton of super awesome things!

@cascadecherub: I’ve heard that before (about the kids toothpaste). I’ll pick some up and try it! But I don’t think it is the toothpaste. It’s just that as soon as I get that much “fluid” on the back of my tongue, I start dry heaving instantly. My next dental cleaning is in my 5th month. I hope I can get through it without dry heaving! 🙂

@Jenn23: I gagged during my dentist during the flossing. He was cool with it and took his time. I just spit a lot before brushing and after to remove excess fluid. For me, it’s the toothbrush and toothpaste that does me in.

@cascadecherub: If my toothbrush even barely touches my tongue, it’s all over. 🙂 At night I can brush my tongue, but in the morning…forget it!
