Definitely find someone else asap. There is no excuse for her behavior.

that’s very not cool….i wouldn’t have been able to wait as patiently and as long as you have!  was the deposit significant?

well poo on that.  does the contract state she will get you sketches by any chance?

so the contract just states how many people it needs to feed and what else? does it specify buttercream or fondant?  i’m confused how she could provide you a cost estimate without sketches/a better idea of what the cake looks like, ya know?  like if you want 1 gum paste flower or 36, i have to imagine the price would vary substantially

email doesnt get “lost” I would give her a timeline and make an appointment to sit down and go over these “sketches” ASAP!

She could be telling the truth about the emails. There have been times when I haven’t received emails and it was because the server thought they were spam or they were too big. I would just send her a followup email about the phone call and ask her to followup with a phone call when she sends the email, so that she can makes sure you get them. My wedding planner has sent me emails while I have been on the phone with her and I have not received them. It doesn’t happen all of the time, but it does happen.

i dunno…if the OP sent three emails asking for sketches, this would have clued the baker in that she clearly wasn’t receiving her emails and she should have called the OP.  sounds fishy to me.

@itsmevistagirl:Yes, emails do sometimes get lost. I have had sent emails show up months later, so it does happen.

hm ok that makes sense about the price then.  did she ever call you back? i’d let her know how upset you are and that you expect a sketch of the cake sent snail mail to you right away.

that’s a lot of money- you’ve paid for this service, so she better deliver right away.

Maybe she isn’t receiving all of your emails either. I would ask her to check. There may be something with one or the other of your service providers that is blocking your email. We went through this last year with my sister. She wasn’t receiving any of my emails and we found out yahoo was blocking us. I still don’t know why, but my techy son did get it fixed for me. Also, some of my customers weren’t receiving emails from me either. It was a royal pain. I had to followup each email with a phone call, if I had their number, to make sure that they received the email.
