A lot of people buy gifts right before the shower.  I would stop looking at the registry for now so you don’t make yourself upset over nothing.

I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.  I bet a lot of people will buy gifts this weekend and next.  I’d stop looking.

Most people I know buy shower gifts the day before or the day of. lol for the last handful of showers I attended, I bought the gift on my way to the party & wrapped the gift in the car. For real. That’s the luxury of a registry… no effort is really required.

I agree w/ MissAsB: stop looking! Especially if it’s causing you upset…

That’s why I am imposing a self-ban on checking the registry for 2 weeks before the shower, and 2 weeks before the wedding!

marci- I watched my FDIL’s Target registry get decimated in the 5 hours before the last shower last Saturday.  She has one more on the 22nd and I predict the BB&B and Macy’s registries will really cook on those days as all of the old ladies (my age) are coming, and they like those stores.  I really should check her Macy’s registry today, as this was the last one day sale before their wedding.  Savvy shoppers around here see that as a monthly ritual:-)  It will happen soon- don’t worry.

I just took a peek at my registry – it is 3 weeks before my shower and someone just bought my luxury sheets (flat, fitted, and pillow cases – woot woot)

most people procrastinate.  i just went to a baby shower last weekend and i bought my gift on the Monday prior to the shower and NO ONE had bought a SINGLE thing!  i was shocked!  i checked again the morning of the shwoer and all sorts of stuff had been purchased.

I agree with the other ladies, most people procrastinate on shower gifts.  Also a lot of people buy gifts not on the registry.  In fact I would say the last few showers I’ve been to, 60% of the gifts given were not on the registry.  Just stop looking.  it’ll drive you crazy.

I am one of those people who purchase the gift ON THE WAY to the shower AND wrap the gift in the parking lot (or throw it in the bag!)  :o)

I totally shop the day of, maybe the day before. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. I can understand that you would be a little hurt though, everyone wants to know that they’re thought of and their friends/family is excited. They love you and you’ll be showered! Now stop looking!!!

I have yet to buy a gift for anyone from a registry. I am sure you will get lovely gifts, even if they are not from your registry.

i totallly understand. my shower has come and gone – and 9 items were bought off my registry…and 8 of them were from my MOH!!!! she’d bought 7 cheaper items for a game we played at the shower and 1 bigger item as her gift for me – then the other item was from my bridesmaid…

i had 2 people (asides from my moh, bm and mom) at my shower. 🙁

i’d invited 30. i know i shouldn’t be selfish – but it also hurt that some people i’d invited – i’d gone to THEIR baby shower or bridal shower and yet they didn’t show up to mine. THAT sucked.

but anywhoo – my shower WAS sweet and i hope my registry will be bought from come the wedding! (50 more days and only 1 other item has been purchased since the shower…)

I just peaked tonight at ours.  We have a shower coming up next Sunday.  One new thing has been bought since my first shower.  I was freaking out a little too, but just like everyone else said… People procrastinate.  It will be just fine.
