Today I met up with my best friend. This is rare these days as she lives so far away now. She is also ‘waiting’ for her SO to propose. We had lunch and then wanted something else to do before she took the 4 hour drive home.
we were driving to the pub where we saw a sign for ‘Wedding Show’ and (half) jokingly said we should go and then we actually did.
I feel so pathetic! looking round a wedding when I am not even engaged..
I thought it would be fun and would make me feel better (like weeding relief) but now I feel even more sad and frustrated!
what silly things have you done?

@LilMonkey: my friend and I went to a bridal show before I was engaged! haha and tried on lots of erings together.

@LilMonkey: 75% of the women at wedding shows aren’t actually engaged! They’re just fun.
I spent TONS of time staring at wedding dresses online before I got engaged!

Aww sweety, people have done way crazier things than that XD
I’ve spent evenings finding “affordable” engagement rings, “considering “affordable” high street dresses and one time I looked up a lot of the local venues in the area just to see what to expect. Generally I do feel kinda pathetic afterwards but in the end it doesn’t really matter, I’m not *actually* planning anything and I’m not bombarding BF with any of it so where’s the harm really? Just something to do on a lonely evening 🙂

@MaidMarian: lol. I spend hours looking at stuff online hehe 🙂 that seems a little less crazy some how. I guess it is a proximity thing. I saw ‘my wedding dress’ though.. can’t stop thinking about it

@LilMonkey: Oh no, I’m sorry it made you feel sad. 🙁
I have been buying antique glass buttons online, to use on my dress (which I will be making once we get engaged). They are hard to find, so when I come across some that are the right kind, I snatch them up. It was a little awkward when my SO admired the first lot of them I bought– he asked what they were for. I said, “oh, just some project someday– I really like this kind of button and they’re hard to find.” I’m always planning new sewing projects, so that was fairly plausible– but I still wonder if he suspects.
I’ve been very tempted to go into jewelry stores and look at e-rings, by myself. I haven’t because I know it would make me feel super weird. But sometimes where you’re with friends, doing things like that seem more tempting. :/

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with looking around a wedding show 🙂 I spent lots of time looking at rings and flower arrangements before I was engaged.

My friends and I made a HUGE Pinterest board for my fall wedding before I was even engaged. By the time he had proposed, I had already looked at caterers, florists and venues <_< Lol Nothing wrong with that!

Well, I think I’ve got you all beat:
When my daughter was 16 WE tried on prom dresses together.
I had to have help getting out of mine….(wasn’t overweight, just that dress was tight, lol)
Have fun with this! with LIFE

@LilMonkey: as long as no big time purchases were made. I call it pre-planning/ research. I’ve designed my dress and have gotten a quote on it.

If that’s your only reason for feeling pathetic then boy am I a HUGE loser! I’ve always been facsinated with ALL things wedding. I’m an addict for sure. Don’t feel pathetic. Put on your optimism overalls and remember that your proposal IS coming and you will soon be able to dive into the world of weddings!
