None of my bridesmaids are local either, and it bums me out too. i definitely understand what you’re feeling! I like to FaceTime with them, but you’re right, it’s not the same. I’m not much help, but I feel your pain! Hugs.

Yep! Both of my bridesmaids are in different places! It was pretty frustrating trying to pick out the dress but what we ended up doing was I went out to places that I knew would be in their area to look at BM dresses, I took pictures of it, even one with one on so they knew how it would look on a human being, then they went to their local stores and tried it on and sent pictures. After the stress of figuring all that, it ended up going smoothly for everyone. Thank goodness!

I know your pain though, it’s hard to coordinate anything with BM’s in different areas. I couldn’t even imagine them trying to throw me a bridal shower. Luckily, my Future Aunt-in-Law will be hosting one for me.

I hope everything works out for you! Good luck!

I know how y’all feel. I have 3 bridesmaids and the MOH. The closest person lives 3.5 hours away. Even my mom is 6 hours away. FMIL lives in town but I’m trying super hard to keep her out of the planning process for various reasons.

It’s been hard for sure. I’m trying to plan a weekend where we can all get together to make favors, decorations, etc but of course that’s impossible because not all of them are free on the same weekends.

I feel your pain 🙁  Perhaps you can plan a trip home to go look for dresses with your girls? Some advice I got before when I was feeling down was to take a step back from wedding-related stuff and do a hobby you enjoy to get you out of that slump. Hope you cheer up soon!

@groovinbride:  I completly understand where you are coming from. None of my bridesmaids are local either. In fact, they all live in seperate states. I just started my wedding planning and I have been feeling down about that too. My mom and sister live out of state as well and they are coming here in a few weeks to help me look at wedding gowns so that helped me feel better. I think I am going to try to have all my bridesmaids come here in a few months so we can pick out their bridesmaids dresses.(Not sure if I can get them all together at the sametime, but I am going to try)  I am just going to have to pick a store that is in all of their states. Is this something that you could try?

I wish you luck! I defiantly can relate!

@groovinbride:  *HUGS* Both of my BMs are in CA and I’m across the country in NC, and it gets lonely planning sometimes.  Just be glad there are things like facebook, email, photobucket, etc. that can make planning long distance a bit easier.  Plus, I always remind myself that I don’t have to deal with a bunch of unwanted opinions (just read some of the nightmarish BM posts on WB lol).

I don’t have any local bridesmaids either.  I set up a private Facebook group so we could all communicate.

None of mine are local eigher. They all live 2 hours away! I made bridesmaid shopping fun though! I went and tried on BM dresses, took pictures, and sent a cute email to the.  In the end, they were able to pick their own dress (surprisingly they all picked the same one!). They were happy and so was I! Do they all live in the same area? Could you do a little weekend trip to see them all? Im going to Indianapolis this weekend to see my ladies. I am so excited!!

@groovinbride:  I feel your pain. All of my bridesmaids are 10 hours/600 miles away. They’re mostly reachable online or by phone, but it isnt’ the same. I want them here to share the planning and get excited over decisions. I love my fiance, but he’s excited to get married, not about the process of planning the day!
