I like it without the candle. The other looks okay too, but it is very obvious there is a candle behind it, and it makes it a little difficult to see the number. They both look nice though!
While I really like the idea, I think that ones with the candle are kind of hard to read.
Part of the difficulty in seeing the one with the candle was due to my camera. It doesn't do well in low light. They're much easier to read in person. Ideally I would have liked to find some semi transparent paper and have the candle behind that, but there wasn't anything that worked...
Definitely no candle. And I love your picture frames. If I didn't already have table numbers, I might look into these. Or I might anyway and use my table number stands at the candy buffet. It's too hard to decide.
Maybe instead of a votive you could do a tealight? I think the candle light is really romantic and if the height of the candle wasn't around the same as the table number that you could see it better, try that maybe? They look great!
KP- that's a good idea, I'll have to see if I have any tea lights around the house that I can try it out with...
like both, but the frame with the candle is such a great idea. true, the readability is kinda tough.. if its better in person than i'd go with it. KP- thats a great suggestion!!
I like the frame without the candle, but I would make the number a bit darker.
Greenleaf, have you tried it again? I'd love to see your modified trial! I'm all about the candle light :)
I did try it again and ultimately decided to go with candle light. It looks much different in person than in the picture, and everyone I showed it to in real life liked the candle better. I don't have any pictures of the way it finally turned out, but I'll see if I can get some up in a few hours or so...
Oh, what the hey- I might as well procrastinate a little while longer ;) Here's the final product. In the end the tea light and the votive looked about the same, so I went with the votive so it would last longer. The picture still isn't as clear as it is in person, but it gives you a much closer idea than the former picture. Both the frame and the number are more of a silvery champagne color, rather than the gray and gold like they look here...
I love it!
You could always go LED for these if you really think it might catch on fire. :)
I love the uniqueness of this - WTG!! Gives me inspiration since I have no idea what I'm doing for table numbers yet.

Hi all, I've been messing around with table number options and I wanted some opinions. I found these amazing little frames at Michaels, $2.99 a piece and they're really cute and vintage looking. The main decor at the reception will be candles. The centerpieces are floating candles with votives scattered around, there will be mason jars with candles on the bar, big branches with Christmas lights over the doorway- you get the idea. So here are the options.
Option 1: Frame with backing removed, in front of a candle
Pros: I like candles. These will fit the theme better. I feel like they're more unique.
Cons: May catch on fire, thus inhibiting guests from finding the correct table ;)
Option 2: Frame with number on vintage-y paper, no candle
Pros: No chance of catching on fire. I already have the stuff I need, no need to buy anything. Still cute.
Cons: May not stand out against everything else in the room.
Any help?
